I recently had the pleasure of dining at Minga Parrilla in Buenos Aires, and it was an unforgettable culinary experience. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the cozy and intimate atmosphere of the restaurant. The decor was modern and stylish, with a warm and inviting vibe that immediately made me feel at home.
But the real star of the show was the food. Oh, the food! I ordered the famous artichoke risotto, and it was absolutely divine. The artichokes were cooked to perfection, and the risotto was creamy and rich. I also tried the grilled octopus, which was tender and flavorful, with a nice char from the grill. And let's not forget the empanadas - flaky, crispy, and filled with delicious meat and cheese.
The service was also top-notch. The staff were friendly and attentive, with a great knowledge of the menu and wine list. They were happy to make recommendations and answer any questions I had.
I was also impressed by the variety of dishes on the menu, which seemed to blend traditional Argentine flavors with modern twists and ingredients. Other standouts included the provolone cheese fondue, the grilled skirt steak, and the decadent chocolate desserts.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Minga Parrilla. The food was exceptional, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience in Buenos Aires, look no further than Minga Parrilla. Five...
Read moreAfter 3 weeks travelling at around Peru and Brazil, it was time to finish off the trip with a couple of days in Buenos Aires. Getting in late, we went for a walk to see what we could find for dinner and walked by a couple of pizza and burger joints. We decided to turn a corner and follow the lights down the street, and I am so glad we did.
Minga Parilla was a beautiful restaurant offering both indoor and outdoor dining. We chose the latter and were well served with heating on a rather cold night. We were extremely comfortable.
Our knowledge of Spanish is sadly lacking, but fortunately, we had the assistance of our waiter Valentin, who spoke very good English and helped us through the ordering process.
A fine range of options was on the menu but we both settled for some steak with extra vegetables.
Valentin was first class in assisting us with our food and wine order. We were not familiar with the red wine varietal on offer (Bonardo), so he gave us a sample before we committed. It was very nice and so we went with that.
Now for the meal…Wow!!
I went for the 600g fillet steak and was blown away by the size, quality and cooking to perfection. Extra vegetables were ordered, which filled out the meal nicely. Complimented with the condiments and wine, it was an absolute treat.
The dinner was made perfect with the service we received from Valentin, who ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy this...
Read moreA highly entertaining experience watching one particular waiter's level of service. He dropped glasses, he dropped drinks, he dropped food, even a whole tray of meat (3 or 4 meals worth). He flopped around the restaurant like dumbo on valium leaving a trail of distruction behind himself. It was after the world cup win, so I am sure he was suffering the effects of too much celebrations. All the other staff seemed quite capable. The manager should of fired this guy before ruining the night for all the people in his section.
The food was a bit average. Not bad but nothing to talk about. I probably ordered the wrong meal. I had the entraña as it was recommended. But it is not a cut of meat I would get again. Here or else where.
I opened my own bottle of wine. I took all the food from the waiters hands and placed it on the table myself. This was after my entrada nearly went on the floor. I had another waiter serve my dessert.
The place seems nice though. Just make sure you don't get serviced by the...
