The food at Butch is decent, and we enjoyed our first visit. The servings are generous for the amount we eat, and in order not to waste food we ordered 1 steak, 2 sides and a drink to share. This was also recommended by our server on the first day, who suggested that sharing would be a good choice.
However, our second experience today was unfortunately marred by the service of an older male waiter with a beard. Unlike our previous visit, he refused to provide tap water, and later gave us an unusual amount of small bills (80 pieces of 1000 pesos notes) as change, leaving us feeling disrespected and targeted. It felt like he was playing a joke on us.
While we appreciate the good food and service from other staff members, this particular waiter's behavior significantly impacted our overall impression. It's disappointing that such a negative encounter could overshadow the positive aspects of the restaurant.
P.S. I was willing to close an eye for the food, but after this distasteful experience I can safely say: Honestly, I’ve had better steak elsewhere anyway. The table of 3 Americans behind us sent their steak back because it was just all fats, so it’s...
Read moreButch is a very cozy restaurant named after the old western outlaw Butch Cassidy, that focuses on meat dishes. The restaurant has a Western theme which is implemented into the decor and also the menu.
The food is genuinely nice, but the taste is not gonna blow your mind. The portions however...holy smokes. I'm a big eater but even I was struggling to finish my burger. We ordered the sausage with potatoes as a starter, the steak sandwich and the lamb burger as our mains. The sausage was lovely, good taste and right amount of saltiness. The steak sandwich is massive and has a great taste. They use flimsy bread so it's gonna be messy to eat. The lamb burger was oke. The bread to meat ratio is a bit off so it's pretty dry to eat. Main dishes come with a bunch of potatoes, which are great in taste, but be aware of the portions. Given the portions I'd say it's fair for the price.
The staff was great, hospitality in Argentina has surprised me a lot and 99% of the time it has been a very pleasant experience. The same goes for the staff working at Butch. Very nice and...

My hubby and I started with a couple of cocktails served in penguin pitchers, and split the eggplant as a starter. While minimally spiced, the eggplant was enhanced by the salsas provided for the bread. (Which itself was wonderful!) It turned out to be a winning combination.
Then came the meat! Unbelievably delicious ribeye, cooked to absolute perfection! I would say each steak was at least 12 oz., thick, rare, yet a nice char on the outside. Two different salsas were provided, but honestly, the ribeyes were so flavorful off the grill they didn't need it. None the less, they were a nice little extra and offered a bit of extra spicing. We split a side of fries that were fresh and tasty.
We were too full for dessert and asked for the check. All of this including tip was roughly $45 US. WOW!
Best meal in Argentina thus far! It's...
