Customer satisfaction truly stood out.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5
My experience at La Vinería was nothing short of delightful. Nestled in a quieter street just off the main road in El Chalten, this upmarket steakhouse offers a culinary journey worth savoring.
We opted for the mixed grill, a generous platter featuring a variety of meats – pork, lamb, veal, chicken and guanaco which is a wild native camelid similar to a llama. The two dipping sauces complemented the array of flavors perfectly. The smoked trout beetroot ravioli stole the spotlight with superbly crafted pasta, flavorful filling, and a wonderful sauce. The surprise crunch of the sweet potato fries added an unexpected but welcomed twist.
Though our initial steak order arrived overcooked and tough, our lovely waitress swiftly addressed the issue. The kitchen replaced it with a higher-grade cut, cooked to absolute perfection. The dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out.
La Vinería's accommodation of various currencies, including USD and EURO, with a favorable exchange rate, is a boon for international travelers. Additionally, accepting card payments proves convenient for tourists without local currency.
To top it off, complimentary assortments of bread, pumpkin hummus, and salad added a thoughtful touch to our dining experience. La Vinería has mastered the art of blending quality cuisine, although a word of warning it can get quite noisy in the restaurant if you are looking for a more quiet...

Read moreWe had a pretty bad experience here overall. We waited for a really long time for our food (approximately 45 min), I ordered a steak, and when it finally arrived it was way over cooked (I asked for medium rare and it was well done). They did say we’ll get a new one, and that we will not be charged for the steak. The new steak took a long time again (another 20 min at least) and my wife already finished her meal. When the new steak arrived it was way undercooked. I was going to eat anyway but the waitress suggested to take it back for a bit more and I said ok but only if it is really quick. It was another 20 minutes and it was already ridiculous. It finally arrived and was ok. When we got the bill we saw that we were still charged for the steak and when I asked about it, the waitress said that her manager didn’t approve taking it entirely off the bill and instead gave us a discount 4$ out of 28$) because we ate the steak…
The waitress was nice and suggested that she will cover it because she promised but I just paid for it. It was obviously the manager’s fault here (and the kitchen).
The food was nice but I won’t come back again and would suggest you’ll go to another steakhouse in town that knows how the cook a steak and stand...
