Bodegón Fueguino — Restaurant in Ushuaia

I'm giving 2 stars instead of one because my girlfriend's food was very good. Mine, however, was very overcooked after we specified twice we wanted the Steak medium rare.

When we arrived, we accidentally knocked over a dirty glass and it broke on the floor. Regrettable and we apologized. But our server, Gaby I believe, was clearly very upset by this. She spent the rest of our meal treating us like dirt apparently to punish us for the error. She would not even make eye contact with us or speak any words she didn't absolutely have to. She gave us extremely rude stares from afar constantly. All the while laughing and socializing with the tables around us. 3 tables of people arrived after us. Received bread, she took their drink orders, and served their drinks all before she would even look at us. Always turning her back on us so we couldn't get her attention if we tried.

She finally came to the table, served us rock hard bread that was different than all the tables around us and took our orders (which we had ready to go after sitting for 30+ minutes before she spoke to us.)

30+ more minutes go by.. Every one of the tables seated after us has received their food, and eaten it. They are looking at deserts and asking for checks. Gaby finally looks at us once again to ask what we had ordered and then quickly runs away. We thought she was rushing the kitchen.. Incorrect. She never even placed our order. So after an hour+ at the restaurant and she just now sends our order to the kitchen while most seated after us already finished their meals, paid, and left.

A short while later the food comes out (the kitchen is quick) . My girlfriends meal was undercooked from her specifications but exactly the dish she ordered and extremely tasty. Mine, however, was EXTREMELY overcooked and didn't even come with the sides I ordered. I don't see how this could be a coincidence given all she had done to disrespect us previously.

I came to this restaurant because of the excellent reviews and the location. I left feeling bad I even left her a tip. I'm sure this restaurant could be excellent and most of the food is probably very tasty. Maybe if they replaced Gaby with a server who can act like a professional they'd have even more satisfied customers.

P. S They have signs on every post of the restaurant with the WiFi password, but the password is incorrect. The staff informed us there were too many people connected and that's why it said incorrect password. 2 hours later when we Finally got ready to leave, over half the restaurant was gone and the WIFI still didn't work. Either they lied to us or no more than 5 people can be on at a time.

Recommendation: Don't have Gaby as your server. It's clear from other reviews the Owner views these comments frequently. So I am posting here to let him know he needs to replace that staff member. Let me know when you do and we'll stop by for dinner next time we...

Went there for dinner while travelling solo in Ushuaia. Waited 1:20 hours outside for a table!!!! When I finally got seated I was completely ignored!!!!! I even had to ask for the menu! Other guests got seated, taken their orders…… no one even looked at me! Had to ask the waiter if she could take my order!!! Finished my food and waited for at least 25 minutes, my plate was not taken, desert menu was not offered…. I wanted to order another drink and called the waiter twice when she walked past and got completely ignored…. 25 minute!!!! Completely ignored, even though tables in from and next to me were cleaned, new guest seated and orders taken and served! I guess by being alone I’m not a good enough customer for them!!!

I just got up and went and paid my bill!!! Got an apology at the end!!!

Will never recommend this place! The food is good but the service is appalling!!! Not worth the agony and wait...

This place was around the corner from our hotel and since our room wasn't ready yet we decided to grab lunch here while we waited. We arrived shortly after 12, right when they opened, and had no issues finding a table. Service was polite, and our waitress spoke no English - but we didn't expect her to - and easily over came that.

I ordered the chicken with mushroom sauce. The chicken was cooked nicely, not over cooked or dry. However the gravy was very thin, definitely not homemade and it's obvious the mushrooms were from a can. The potatoes were also clearly not fresh and from frozen, but still cooked well.

My husband's lamb stew was delicious and he had no complaints.

Overall it was a great comfort meal for a rainy day, and the prices seemed reasonable. But I'd compare it to more of a quick diner style meal - just don't expect fresh...
