Terrible Terrible Terrible Service at Tasty Biang. In addition to the soggy and dry food, what you are also going to get is an insincere apology in a sarcastic tone by the managing staff.
Ordered take-away at the counter and specifically asked for coke zero, waited for 25 mins when there were only 3-4 tables dining. Finally approached the counter and checked with them for my order. Then guess what? My order was sitting on the table, and it had been sitting there for quite a long time judging by how soggy and dry the food was. And the drink was wrong too.
When I asked the managing staff who was 'Training' a young girl why the food was left on the counter for so long instead of bring it to me and kept me waiting for so long. The first response from him was he was busy training someone. I was clearly not happy with it so I took my food, turned around and leaving. On my way out, I heard a "I am sorry la" in an insincere and sarcastic tone.
Obviously it was a very upsetting experience. And the managing staff had no respect or regard of other people's time nor understanding of how service is done properly. Ironically, he was there to training others. I thought this was a stand alone incident until I saw many other incidents were posted online, and below is an incident almost exactly the same to mine which took place 2 months ago.
This is a poor reflection of the Australian standard, this is a poor reflection of the hard working Chinese restaurant staff in SA and this is a poor reflection of the friendly and polite manner of the Chinese tradition. Behaviors like this shall not be tolerated at all, otherwise, it is not fair to others who work extremely hard to provide the...

You see, if you had the best and most expensive ingredients to work with, it's more likely to turn out tasty, and expensive. Think caviar, lobsters and the like.
But, when you make the same magic happen with common ingredients it's a testament to the chef.
I ordered a spicy minced beef tossed noodle and it arrived promptly. My noodles didn't look that flash in the bowl. It was more rustic than artistic. At this point I was thinking this looks pretty meh. But I quickly looked past the rustic presentation once the flavours hit home.
The best way to describe this would be a spicy Asian take on a spegbolg.
The noodles are definitely the hero here. Handmade and cooked to perfection, Al Dante. The beef wonderfully browned, and seasoned with Szechuan peppercorn oil and crushed peanuts. Topped off with dipped fried sliced green chilli and you have a formidable mouthful of heat.
Definitely worth a visit if Xian style spice and handmade noodles are your thing. I'm planning another visit. The noodles...
Read moreTried the spicy beef mince noodles. Very tasty and good value for money. You get a huge serve for $16-$17 dollars.
My wife had Qi mountain pork noodle soup. Also quite tasty and a massive serve.
The service is never cheerful in these places, but that is to be expected.
I took a point off because they were out of clean spoons and my wife had to eat her soup noodles with only chopsticks for most of the meal before they finally sourced a clean spoon. When the spoon finally appeared there was no apology for having to eat the first half of the meal without a spoon.
Also the toilets? Not good. The floor was oily and my feet were slipping on the floor while trying not to stand in the puddle of urine. It also...
