Called in for coffee and cake whilst visiting the art gallery. Huge piece of sticky date with salted caramel buttercream which was delicious. The coffee could have been hotter but it didn't detract from the taste. The staff, mainly young people, were lovely, helpful and polite. It's definitely worth a visit if you're visiting the art gallery however it is a popular place for lunch.

Staff polite and coffee tastes good, but: Overpriced coffee. Music was generally not relaxing. An uninviting bare space, not even a flower on a table. An interior design illiterate put up a frosted film to block view of the courtyard...like derrr? Why block the view? Sun is not a problem as there are eaves outside.

This is a great place to grab a bite or a drink after enjoying the museum. It can get crowded. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service warm and the selection of food wide. The Caesar salad was delicious.

I had to book a group of 18ppl for my dad's 70th, with space for a couple of kids to run around. Eat at AGSA made the booking process incredibly easy, customised the booking to our group (eg, put us outdoor but in the shade, backed chairs for the oldies, put out breads and dips on arrival, let us book a full 5 hour sitting from dips, through mains to coffee and cake).

The menu is simple but has something for everyone, and the execution of the dishes knocked it out of the park. Really genuinely nice food. Would make the most boring episode of Gordon Ramsey ever.

The location and ambiance is fantastic, over our sitting most of the group had a wander through the gallery, which everyone always enjoys, the kids buzzed around the grass out the back. The oldies also walked around and 'stalged out on the old armoury building and university district. Most people arrived by public transport or bicycle. The group was having such a nice time that at closing time we wandered down to the OzAsia event for "kick-ons".

The whole affair worked out to be very reasonably priced, and several weeks later I still have attendees telling me what a lovely venue it was. Absolute sleeper hit, cant praise the place enough, well done to...

Brought my mum here for lunch for Mother's Day so we could also go to the Andy Warhol exhibition. What a disappointment. I had booked a table and there were no staff available - was asked 10 mins later if I had been seated?? A menu was handed to us, nothing explained and I asked what the process was ie do I queue to order - the queue was a mile long so he took the order. Most of the wait staff seemed to have no idea which tables to take orders to and were completely disorganised. I asked if we could have water as there was no water jugs left near the servery ie jugs had run out. He said yes but never came back. We ordered a supposed Calabrian seafood salad each which was tiny @ $28 with not one lettuce leaf in sight. Poor service, chaotic and disorganised - it didn't look like there was anyone managing the service yet was Mother's Day weekend when the hospitality industry is usually busy.....unusual for Adelaide....

We had to wait 30 minutes after ordering to receive our food. It was not a complicated order - hummus and flatbread starter, fritata that simply needed warming up and the special - a peach and tomato salad. The starter appeared after the other dishes. The staff seemed to spend most of their time wandering back and forth aimlessly and looked as if they’d really rather be somewhere else.

I complained to the woman who was pointed out to me as the manager and she said that a 30 minute delay after ordering was normal. The food was indifferent - the salad had two small pieces of peach and was otherwise largely...
