UniBar Adelaide — Restaurant in Adelaide

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

It really is a shame because UniBar used to be one of the best places for a feed in the city, period, and being on campus made it that much better.

I don't know what happened, but everything changed in the last year. First off, the menu changes, like c'mon, who even asked for that. Nobody. Every single person I have spoken to misses the old menu. Wednesday pizza was iconic, and I have never seen anybody order the new Wednesday curry. And the Friday steak sandos were unreal, it was the perfect way to end a long week. Now the fish and chips, like ok I could get way cheaper and better and an actual fish and chips takeout. The whole new menu feels cheaper - you get less, then there was the recent price rise on the daily special anyway. $12 for the daily specials! given how much you get there's nothing special about it, that's just how much it would actually cost.

Then even the staff. Look some of the crew there are great, but others are just so bland, and they bring absolutely no life to the service role.

Look, I still like the atmosphere here, but we only come here to sit and enjoy the outside, nobody is coming for the pub food anymore.

The iced lattes are fire though, shoutout to that one girl who makes mean coffees.

I used to love this place, I really did, but it's gone so downhill in the last year that it kind of...

The Unibar used to be one of my favorite places to go in Adelaide to watch local and upcoming bands. Have been going there for years. Loved how they were accepting of individuals of all creeds. So bitterly disappointed to learn that they have recently decided to discriminate against people for their medical decision by making vaccination proof a condition of entry. I truly hope that they decide to reverse this ridiculous decision like many, many venues have. I hope that they end up choosing to be on the right...

We had fun and it’s a nice space. Beers were cold and some really nice staff. There was one staff member working at the bar who was a total mood killer. Tall, dark haired guy with a pony tail who either thinks he’s special or is not cut out for hospitality. Rude and arrogant. Also he made some inappropriate comments. Thanks to the other nice and friendly staff and the long serving institution that is the Adelaide Uni bar. I look forward to many more fun nights...
