Royal Copenhagen Glenelg — Restaurant in Adelaide

I was in a hurry in Manly, Sydney, so I missed these guys, but luckily bumped into them in Glenelg, Adelaide, and got my second chance! The banana fudge flavor was basically sold out, but I didn't give up (cause banana is my favorite ice cream flavor) since I saw that there is a tiny bit left on the edges of the container and managed indeed to get a kids cup filled xD It was plenty for me in the end. They had a toppings bar where you can add chocolate sprinkles and chocolate sauce on your ice cream and I surely did, but apparently didn't quite know how to use the sprinkle machine as most of the sprinkles dropped on the floor, sorry about that. Also, I prefer soft sprinkles and these were hard (as they usually are), so I wouldn't necessary add them next time. When will my next time come, though - I am not sure since I'm sad to learn that Royal Copenhagen is not located in Melbourne CBD which is the most convenient location for me :( Anyway, try their banana ice cream and fall in love! Banana with added chocolate seems to be a typical ice cream flavor in Denmark as I haven't seen it in any other ice cream bar in Australia (except that other Danish ice cream company with their chocolate chip banana) and I've surely tried...

We recently purchased a 750 ml family pack and chose three different flavours. However, I was immediately surprised by the size of the box — it didn’t appear to be 750 ml and looked more like a 500 ml container. When the staff packed the box, we noticed that only six scoops of ice cream fit inside, which further raised doubts about the volume. When we questioned the box size, the staff member seemed to have difficulty understanding English and simply insisted that it was a 750 ml box. Rather than engaging in a lengthy discussion, we decided to pay the $17.50 and left. Once home, I weighed the box using my scale and found it to be only 452 grams, confirming our suspicion that it was not a true 750 ml serving. We usually purchase family packs from Bottegga, and this experience with Copenhagen was disappointing in comparison. It was frustrating to feel overcharged for less quantity and to deal with staff who appeared inexperienced and unable to clearly communicate. Experience on Thursday 9 jan, approx 10.10pm: Horrible service with buying an iced coffee - which basically tasted like milk, where the coffee couldn't be tasted. However this is not the issue I had, the problem i had, was the way it was handled.

Considering most other times the coffee had been fine (and tasted like coffee), i tried to politely let them know the issue this time around. Mistakes happen after all, we're only human. Rather than resolving the issue like most other cafes would, i was told I needed to pay another dollar to have another shot of coffee added.

I paid for it after all, since it's only one dollar - but unfortunately in principle, i found this very disappointing. I was made to feel I was at fault, and that they did not acknowledge their poor quality of service. I expected better service from an established business like this.

This experience warrants a one star review from myself, and to never support this business again.
