I decided to try out El Mexicano. I was greeted warmly and seated outside. Noone else was there at this early time. I ordered the spicy margarita. It was very, very good. Now here is where it goes downhill. I ordered the chicken fajitas and was so looking forward to what this dish is. An iron plate of sizzling meat, peppers and onions served with flour tortillas. What came out was a saucy, tomato based mix of meat, and vegetables??? Fajitas came out of southern Texas and were an easy knockup meal on a grill. So how hard can it be for a restaurant kitchen to just grill/sear meat, peppers and onions for goodness sake. The accompaniments to the meat platter should be guacamole (I had to pay $3.50), salsa, shredded cheese and maybe Pico de gallo (diced tomatoes, onion, fresh coriander, finely chopped jalapeno with lime juice). Not hard to do and not expensive. The only accompaniment was a plate of black beans, with corn cernels and rice. And this was squirted with some kind of fake sour cream. Just appalling. There are some dishes which are best left in their iconic state and not stuffed around by a chef. I will not...

Once seated we were left alone in a relatively quiet restaurant for at least 20 minutes no server etc. We eventual went to the bar and asked to place an order which was met with "oh ok.... a server will be by your table shortly". Server showed up eventually and to be fair she was very pleasant. Long storey short when the food eventually showed up it was sub par at best and with the blue lighting you could barely make out what you were eating. About halfway through the meal a staff member started to give us the bum rush and began sweeping up around us. Upon completing his sweeping he informed us we had to leave they were closed...... So basically they seated us, slow served us, charged us $150 and rushed us out the door before we even finished our crappy meal. The attitude and service here is criminally bad and it should be avoided at...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. We started ordering our food and the waitress very disrespectfully just stopped taking our order and went to take an order from another table. The way she spoke to us was very rude. We waited for over 30 minutes for our food even though we had ordered an entree it didn't come first it came with everything else. A table that ordered after us received their food first. Our entree came out fridge cold, not even attempted to be warmed kind of cold. Also they had run out of guacamole, we didn't get asked if we would still like the dish without the guacamole she just brought it to us and then told us they had none All through out the service was horrible. We had ordered dessert as well which never came and she tried to charge us for. Won't be returning again after...
