Was told about this shop by a mate some time ago. Finally decided to pop over to have try it out on a Sunday afternoon. The place was tidy and clean, and was not crowded at the time when we're there. Ordered a soup rice noodle, curry fish balls, beef rice roll and fried dough with Soya milk. Price is very reasonable for the amount of food served. Soup rice noodle with pepper and pig stomach would be the best dish we had this visit. The rice roll is soft, but we somehow were a bit surprised with a tint of sourness in the gravy, which we presume was vinegar. Not something we were used to having been used to the Cantonese style. The other dishes were decent and we plan to revisit soon to try out the other soup dishes which looks equally delicious as the one we had.

I had breakfast here three days in September 2024. I plan to do the same every time I'm in Adelaide. The cheung fun were excellent. Noodles made to order with the right consistency and grippiness on the chopsticks. One time I had them filled with bacon and sausage, another with preserved vegetables. The congee had excellent flavours and a touch of heat. The you tiao were fresh, light, and crisp. The chef is Hong Kong trained and a lovely guy. I've noticed that some businesses in Adelaide can sometimes be a touch casual about opening hours. This place opens at 7, but if you arrive much before 8 you might need to stare pleadingly through the window 😄

Been here many times. They made the best traditional Chao Shan rice roll. The texture of the rice roll is so amazing, best in Adelaide. If you don’t want so much topping in your rice roll, just let the chef know. He is super friendly. I also love their beef rice noodle soup. It’s very tasty, very meaty. Different from Pho, which is more refreshing. But this beef noodle soup is more earthy and solid, more satisfying. Highly recommended. It is a little shop that only run by the chef himself and with one waitress. So please be patient with your order.

So I’ve been wanting to try this place for a long time. It’s a bit hard because I work mornings and day time so never have the opportunity. Got really excited when I had an opportunity to try the rice rolls.

My experience was very awful though I must say. I walked in and asked if I could order the rice roll set menu. The chef behind the counter just said “No”

I replied “you don’t have rice rolls?” Can I order anything else? And he said “no again” but in a way where he clearly did not want to deal with me. I’m devastated because I was so excited and in under 60 seconds was made to feel so unwelcome.

I very rarely review anything but will go to great lengths to ensure no one else is made to feel as bad as I felt walking...

AVOID at all cost! Must have been the worse quality restaurant in Adelaide. The food quality was extremely bad. The meat (diced beef) was stale, and quite obviously left overs, the soya sauce for the 肠粉 tasted weird and sourish. The soya milk was definitely not fresh and made from instant packets.

The place in general was quite deserted, and given the sticky and oily condition of the table and poor hygienic condition of the utensils, it was a flag that we should have heeded and left.

The price was also expensive for the portion so there is zero value in this restaurant. There are plenty of extremely good food in 5-10 minutes walk so please choose better!...
