I’m not usually one to write reviews but my experience just wasn’t great. I ordered some take away lemon chicken and realized the chicken was raw once I bit into it. I called the restaurant back and explained to them that the chicken was undercooked and asked for a new order. I wasn’t looking for a refund because I was really looking forward to the lemon chicken. The person on the line said okay so I went back over with the original container of lemon chicken to show them in case they asked. When I went back to the restaurant the owner told me that he could make me another batch but it will be cooked the same way because it’s just “tender”. I explained to him that the chicken was not tender, it was undercooked. He then proceeded to open the container and rip open the pieces of chicken to prove to me that they were just tender. The pieces he ripped open were also pink… I also showed him pictures of the pieces that I bit into that were visibly pink but he still continued to say that they were just tender. Can’t believe they tried to gaslight me into thinking this visibly raw chicken was fully cooked.. I ended up asking for a refund, which they weren’t too happy about about provided nonetheless.

I used to love this place, the name itself is great. What the hell happened? Tried to order online and was instructed that free delivery was a min purchase of $100 not the $80 previously. So who cares, I love the food so I ordered an extra meal. In the checkout, all my details are there except the site would not accept my address (West End) Upon calling the restaurant and phoning my order through I was informed they now don"t have a delivery driver and to order through Uber (a company that rips off suppliers and it's couriers) which we will never use. Now after telling the gentleman on the phone I was placing an order over $100, $104.00 to be correct, he wanted an extra $2.50 for delivery. Now $2.50 is not a lot of money but when your website states a particular service maybe you need to obligate that or remove it. Here's a tip! I know your delivery drivers car has broken down and that unfortunate. Hire a car $40per day and fulfil your advertised obligation util their car is repaired. This way you wont loose loyal customers. You have a lot of competition in West End!

Although I've always jested with friends about eating at the A Chinese Restaurant, the food is really spectacular. I had the sweet sour pork and the execution was peeerfect. The sauce was a bright rose orange with just the right amount of sour and sweet. The batter was thin and crispy and the pork was tender. The ingredients are fresh too. Parking is difficult. The closest parking is across Montague road at the Queensland theatre. Used to be free but I think it's metered parking. The street parking just outside the restaurant on bouquet St has only 3 car spaces of half hour parking, usually already taken up. Venue itself is clean but small and cloistered. But I'm ok with that because I rather eat my food freshly cooked than from a takeaway scenario.

For a place called 'A Chinese Restaurant' the food was shocking. I am from Malaysia and i have had many different styles of Chinese food at many different places but what I got from here was bland, tasteless and was poor in quality. I really don't understand how they have such rave reviews when the food was pretty much tasteless. Its either the people who eat here do not know what authentic Chinese food is or they do actually have some dishes that taste good and we had the unfortunate pleasure of ordering something they are not used to cooking

The fried rice was bland, looked as sad as the taste and had a fishy smell. Their garlic fish was rubbery and bland. Its like having reheated seafood for the 3rd time. Not forgetting the honey battered prawn, the batter was thick, the prawn was overcooked and it had a weird smell. I for one would not come again but thats mainly how my taste buds are accustomed to proper chinese food. Sorry for the bad review but i have to be...
