Staff have been fantastic, everyone has been very nice and welcoming.
Location is great, but it's at the top of a decently steep hill which sucks to walk, especially if you've been out all day (it's like a 20ish minute walk to the Queen Street Mall too!). Lots of food places to eat about a 6 minute walk down the hill, and Coles is also down the hill as well.
Now the rooms (I had a studio). The bed/sleeping area: while the bed is actually VERY comfortable, there is a LARGE indent in the middle of the bed which makes it VERY difficult for 2 people to sleep in the bed. It's been just me in the room 96% of the time, but when my friend was staying the night, it was just really difficult for us to sleep together because of it. I even rotated the mattress and it did nothing to help at all. Also, there is no duvet cover for the duvet. They just use 2 different sheets. It would be incredibly beneficial for a duvet cover instead of getting tangled in the 2 sheets. Pillows were so-so, I brought my own so I didn't use them all, but they could be better, but there are definitely worse. There is dust all over the fan and air vents. The windows could use cleaned (top to bottom, not just the reachable area) as there are finger prints and grease from peoples foreheads/noses on the window from leaning on it. It's fogged some between the panes, but you can still totally tell the windows are dirty on the inside though.
Bathroom: it could've been cleaned better before I checked in. There were still soap marks on the dish in the shower and on the nob to turn the water on you could clearly see marks. Not as noticable on the shower head, but still there too. The washer could come with instructions on where to put the powder detergent as I'm pretty positive I used the wrong spot the first use and my friend said they think it the far right spot and not the middle or left.
Kitchen: I had to wash all the dishes I was going to use as there was grease all over them (especially the utensils). The top of the fridge was covered in dust too, as well as the shelving and stuff on the shelves as they aren't really used. I told the front desk about the utensils and plates and cups, they were apologetic and said they can have someone come clean them, but I said not to worry as I already did it, but wanted to inform them of it. Some instructions on what the various symbols on the oven mean too would have been real helpful, but I sent a pic to my friend in NZ and she told me what to use. Also no pans for the oven. I wanted to bake brownies with a friend but nothing to bake in. The one "shelf" in the oven doubles as a baking sheet though so at least I was able to use that. Nothing to place dishes on either after you wash them, I'm definitely not going to let them sit and dry in a dirty sink. I did have 1 skillet and 1 pot though, a long with a couple other very unused appliances on the shelves. Enough table settings for 4 people though (minus 1 missing fork).
Room service: wasn't expecting this, but was a nice surprise. Made the bed and neatly placed my items back on it. But the bathroom sink they only quickly wiped down and was very noticable about it not being a cleaning. They didn't clean the toilet either. Wasn't expecting a shower clean at all (they didn't do it), but if I got room service, I would expect a sink and toilet clean.
**It honestly is a great place to stay, I would 100% stay again if I were needing accommodation when I come back and it offered a good deal, but I would want to be sure the basic cleaning was taken care of first, and hopefully they take care of...
Read moreI've stayed here twice. Once a year ago (2020) and again in 2021-22. The difference was stark. The building was new back in 2020 and the room was quite unprepared (as in no chest of drawers, coat hangers, kitchen gear) but when I requested it, reception was great about it and I recieved everything I asked for pronto. The room was great, overlooking South Brisbane on the 28th floor with awesome views. Excellent pool area. Friendly staff. Recently, I joined my wife who was staying there for work. There was a running joke in amongst the company she worked with that no one could get a single thing they needed in their rooms and everything seemed to be falling apart. My wife went to reception to ask for some saucepans so she could cook and was told that might not be possible. The reception person simply couldn't be bothered. They even tried to pretend they didn't know what a coat hanger was so they didn't have to go to the trouble of providing them. Either that or they were just clueless. The company had to make a call to the place to "encourage" them to actually provide the stuff people were asking for. It gradually started to appear. When I arrived I saw what the running joke was all about. The kitchen was stocked like one of those camping trips where everyone has forgotten to bring things. 2 forks. 2 glasses. 2 coffee mugs. 4 massive dinner plates that wouldn't fit in the dishwasher. 4 bowls that were so small we couldn't work out what you could possible use them for. The shower rail would fall off if you used it. The bathroom door handle would fall off so we were frightened to close the door in case we got locked in there. I had a similar experience to my wife at reception where when i asked for something, the response was a barely concealed eye roll. I'm not sure what's going on at this place. It feels abandoned. It's not like a normal accom place where you can call down and ask for help with something. Their focus seems to be trying to sell the remaining apartments, and those that are staying there aren't really on their radar. Mostly, they're good apartments but they do look like they've been thrown together and in the not too distant future the fittings will all fall to bits. There are better serviced apartments around in Brisbane that offer better services, that are more well equipped and have...
Read moreI checked out and accidentally left my expensive running shoes, shorts, T-shirt and cap on the balcony. I called the hotel later that afternoon however had to leave a voice message as reception was closed, this was just after 5pm on a Wednesday. I left a voice mail advising the hotel of the issue and requesting a call back. I did not receive any call back and had to call the hotel mid morning on the following day. I spoke with reception and was told it would be followed up and I would receive a call back. I did not receive any call back. I again had to call them back the next day, again I spoke with reception and was told it would be followed up and I would receive a call back. I did not and again had to call the hotel the following day (this was now Saturday). I spoke with reception and it was only now that I was told the cleaner reckons nothing was left and reception staff had physically gone up and checked the room and nothing was there. I told them that the shoes had definitely been left there and asked to speak with a manager. I was provided and email address to do this. I sent an email the following day (as I had been provided the wrong email address and it bounced back that day). I did not receive any call back and had to call them back. On this call I was just told there is nothing they can do about it. So in short, don’t leave your stuff at this hotel as staff/employees will dispose/lose/steal it. Don’t expect them to call back and help resolve any issues you may have...
