I highly recommend Abay's Lechon de Cebu Bar and Grill to everyone. Today has been a very special day for all of us and Abay's Lechon de Cebu Bar and Grill helped us make this day a very memorable one for our mum. We flew all the way from WA and some from USA, and I had booked our event for mum's 79th birthday. Our mum is suffering from Stage 4 cancer and we nearly cancelled the event. I was worried they will get upset if I cancel last minute but even then they were so understanding and all they said was it is OK, and praying for your mum's good health. However, thank goodness mum is a little OK today, after being in bed for days and hardly eating, she made it and we got to celebrate her special day at Abay's Lechon de Cebu Bar and Grill. Miraculously, she even ate some beef bulalo broth, pansit, fried bangus and some rice. We were so happy. The food are delicious and very fresh. They prepared and meticulously presented it with great pride. The presentation matches the taste. We loved it. We brought my nephews who are fussy eaters, yet they ate everything. My western partner enjoyed it too, and all my nieces who are teen agers loved it too (usually they are picky eaters too). I love the fact that they made us feel so at home, serving us and making us all feel so comfortable. Mum was in a wheelchair and my family could be so loud and noisy. But they all made us feel so relaxed and the ambience is so welcoming and the celebration was very special. All the staff are busy and yet they tended to our requests with politeness and kindness. They spoke and greeted my mum happy birthday. Derrick the owner chatted with us. And his wife Liz, although I never met her, she wished mum well, and ensured we were all served with kindness. Best of all, they surprised us with the best Ube cake. I had ordered this but they just gifted this to mum. Such caring couple. It was so light and moist. They really made this day extra special to mum. Thank you Abay's Lechon de Cebu Bar and Grill, Derrick and Liz, to your chef and all the staff, my family wish you well. We will surely come back and bring our friends and families. We need to support local business like Abay's Lechon de Cebu Bar and Grill, not only they served us with delicious meals you'd want to come back to again, but best of all the service given to me and my family was truly heartfelt and inspiring. Such dynamic hard working team! For me, the best authentic Filipino cuisine in Brisbane! A must visit!

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday lunch so it was super busy. We ordered 2x lechon (of course 😀), balbacua, sinigang na bangus, ngohiong, daing and turon with vanilla ice cream for dessert. These were for a table of 6 people. The waiting time was around an hour for the first batch of food which was my friend's order, so they ate first. When they were nearly done with their food, my order came, which was another 20mins (give or take). Oh, by the way, the dessert came first. Then, after a while, the 3rd batch came, which was for our other friend. The lechon was ok but could be better. I liked the balbacua and ngohiong. For the sinigang, the soup was good, but i prefer the fresh milk fish and is cut as per the picture on the menu and not the halved one that we usually buy frozen. The turon was great but should be served last. Overall experience was ok. I understand that they are just starting and can improve in the future. Things to improve on: 1. Orders of one group should be served at the same time as much as possible. Not by batch, as they would want to start eating at the same time. 2. Some items on the menu are quite expensive for the size of the serving. 3. Don't serve the dessert if the customer hasn't eaten yet. Unless they say so.

Totally a question of food safety. We got an uncooked lechon. BUT if you fancy MEDIUM RARE - you should be fine. It was very embarassing. My guests were present already when we found out. But, we were forgiving and decided to work through a solution to make do. WHAT ADDED SALT TO THE WOUND was the owner offered to give back $50 as an apology. The 5kg medium rare lechon belly was over $400. And when I retorted that’s not reasonable, a lady who claimed to be an employee showed up in my door with excuses and stated SHE WILL TAKE BACK THE LECHON and we can have our full refund. To which we answered, we already chopped the belly and put it in the oven to cook!!!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. It’s like being ransomed. We agreed to $80 compensation, as my guests were forgiving. She took photos etc as proof. It was uncomfortable. Also found out the lady is apparently the OWNER. Goodness me, why lie too? As a Pinoy, what a shameful practice. As a fellow Bisaya, buyagi. Sa Pinas pa ni, ambot na lang. The lechon ended up not eaten, as it took so long to cook in the oven. NEVER AGAIN.

My experience at Abay's Lechon De Cebu Bar & Grill was a delightful adventure that left me thoroughly satisfied!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Stars

Beyond their legendary Cebu Lechon, I had the pleasure of savoring a variety of dishes that showcased the restaurant's commitment to excellence.

Starting with the Kare-Kare, the rich peanut sauce and tender meat combined to create a symphony of flavors that transported me back to family gatherings. The Sinigang na Bangus, was a delightful surprise too! The Chicken Inasal was a burst of juicy goodness with every bite, a true testament to their mastery of traditional Filipino flavors.

Now, let's talk about my guilty pleasure - the Chicken Skin!! It was crispy, flavorful, and downright addictive! Each piece was a golden delight that had me reaching for more, unable to resist the temptation.

And the Ube cake slice? Moist and delectable, it was the perfect ending to an already fantastic meal. A must-try!!!

I have to highlight the Halo-Halo dessert – it was a real star! The blend of textures and flavors was just right, a refreshing and satisfying treat that truly captured the essence of Filipino desserts. (Check their photo menu at try niyo na din!)

Of course, I cannot forget to mention the hospitality of the owner, Liz. Her warm and welcoming nature added a personal touch to the experience, making me feel like a cherished guest. Engaging in a wonderful conversation with Sir Derick was the cherry on top - his dedication and insights into business management were truly motivating and inspiring.

Abay's Cebu Lechon Bar & Restaurant is more than just a dining establishment; it's an immersion into the heart of Filipino flavors and hospitality. With a menu that artfully combines tradition and innovation, a cozy atmosphere, and a dedicated team committed to ensuring your experience is exceptional, this restaurant has etched a special place in my heart. For anyone in search of an authentic and unforgettable dining experience here in Brisbane, a visit to Abay's is an absolute must!!

Sa uulitin!!!

It was a family dinner experience that we completely enjoyed at Abay's. Quality and flavours are on point. In terms of price, their dishes were just right and so is the servings. We ordered some vegetable, pork and fish dishes. The Cebu Lechon is actually our favourite dish that night. The pork skin is cooked crunchy and flavourful. The meat is soft even though the cut was a bit chunky. However, it would be nice if we had a little bit more of the skin. We ordered two servings and not everyone in the group were able to have some as it was hardly not enough. Just few bits and pieces.Their Pancit Canton was packed with flavour and loaded with lots of meat and vegetable toppings. We were not able to finish it though because we already had rice. To end our dinner, we had some halo halo. They looked impressive to begin with, but I am pleased to report that they deliver both in quality and taste as well. These are extremely satisfying desserts! Abay's Halo-Halo do not scrimp on their ingredients at all. There is enough in there to ensure that each spoonful will not be just ice or milk or bean. You can take your time eating through all of the different ingredients in the cup. Every spoonful will remain milky and flavourful and creamy. And yes, this is based on my own experience eating these.

Depending on where you are coming from, this Abay's can be a convenient location. It can be situated along a major thoroughfare depending if you are travelling on rush hours. Otherwise the vehicle traffic going to and from there does not get too choked. They have a underground parking as well.

In terms of ambiance, diners can look forward to a warm and welcoming vibe at Abay's. Customers can sit comfortably because the tables and chairs are not cramped. It was a an early dinner booking when we ate here so there was no waiting time for us before...
