We recently visited Dicki's New Farm, conveniently located at the river end of Brunswick St, a short walk from the beautiful New Farm Park.
Upon arriving, we received warm and attentive service from the gentleman running the cafe. He was friendly and quickly had us seated (at a table of our choice) and, within minutes, table water was provided.
Dicki's is proof that vegan dining can be enticing, offer great variety, incorporates global influences and, best of all, has amazing flavours.
We ordered a range of items, including the Grains & Greens Salad, Green 'Eggs' on Turkish, Mushroom Arancini Balls, and a serve of fries & aioli. To wash it all down, a Mango/Lime/Coconut smoothie, Chai Latte, and Flat White were ordered.
In a nutshell, everything was hugely impressive. The Arancini Balls, in particular, were divine and I could have devoured another three plates! They were creamy on the inside, crunchy on the outside, and the truffle aioli was spectacular. Both meals, and fries, were also of a high calibre, with my only subtle criticism being the mild flavour of the Green Eggs. They were well prepared and much enjoyed but, perhaps, faded into the background when compared to the other delights served.
Our drinks, I'm pleased to say, were excellent. My Chai Latte was the best I've had in many months. It had a unique aniseed/licorice edge to it, which was perfectly complemented by the bite, spice and warmth also present. It was so good that I ordered a second to take away. My wife, the fussy coffee drinker, was very impressed with her Flat White. Again, better than she'd had for some time. The smoothie was thick, creamy, and loaded with flavour. It reminded me of a Mango Weis bar, which is always a good thing!
I will say that Dicki's NF, in my humble opinion, rates as one of the best plant-based establishments I've ever visited. Location, service, food, and drinks were all of a superior standard. I rarely say this, but I am excited about going there...

Definitely a MUST visit in Brisneyland!! Come starving (or notπ ), and you won't be disappointed!! Fantastic 5 STAR food, all plant based and vegan friendly, FREE OF CONTAMINATION. I've been far too slack & slow to get a review posted for DICKI'S in New Farm, and for that, I'm sorry... because whenever I'm nearby, I always pop in, THE FOOD IS AMAZING!! ALWAYS AMAZING!!! Staff are consistently friendly, accommodating, and helpful, but for me, it's all about the food. I've only worked my way through 60% of the menu (it's hard to deviate from the favourites!), but today's BRUNCH WRAP gave me goosebumps. It was sooo good I had two!! (...well one & a half, my partner and I first tried to be sensible and share one wrap and one salad MIXED GREENS & GRAINS but after tasting the flavours of that wrap, it was far too good to not go again!)
It has the perfect scramble with a full flavoured breakfast sausage, hash potato (& other secret delights), all toasted in a wrap and served with a relish you could gargle before swallowing. The perfect combination of textures & flavour still has me salivating hours later just thinking about it. Absolutely gorgeous. Very worthy of a proper breakfast or a lunch. I'm more of a savoury junkie but my partner had the dessert waffle & ice cream... she wouldn't have shared it anyway π π§ββοΈβ¨οΈ ππ½ππ± Thank you Dicki's team. Your food and hard work are a beacon of brilliant light for the cafe & restaurant scene in Brisneyland! With food like this, you will save the planet in no...
Β Β Β Read moreI've had the pleasure of visiting Dickiβs three times now, and each experience has been a testament to the power of plant-based cuisine. As a vegan who travels to Brisbane with carnivorous family members, I've been impressed by the menu's accessibility to meat-eaters β there's no 'vegan' label or separation; just delicious, expertly crafted dishes that happen to be vegan.
The menu's creativity and variety are standout features. From hearty bowls to innovative small plates, every option is a flavour bomb that will leave even the most dedicated carnivores wondering how they ever settled for less.
What truly sets Dickiβs apart, though, is its commitment to inclusivity. This is a space where vegans and non-vegans can come together, enjoy exceptional food, and leave feeling satisfied and inspired.
Service has always been warm and attentive, with staff happy to guide people through the menu and offer suggestions.
Highlights have been the duck dishes (the Turkish and when itβs on the specials menu), rotating specials in general like the tempeh-chicken burrito, and the bao.
I always leave with something to take with me whether sweet or savoury, and I ALWAYS take a croissant with me if...
