We were so delighted to come across this little food alley. The menu range at Hato’s is good with a selection of noodles, rice, sides, drinks, Japanese beer and a really interesting Gyoza selection. For the type of casual eatery specialising in Japanese cuisine, I think it deserves a 10/10 and if Google Review provided a rating based on category, I will not hesitate to rate them so. The service was excellent, the seating was cute and the place was very clean. I love the seating that overlooks the kitchen and it’s a very good restaurant for dining as a family or as an individual. The ingredients were very fresh and every dish was beautifully prepared and presented. We ordered the Vegetarian Soy Fish Set Meal, Katsu Udon Noodles and Tempura Udon Noodles. The serving sizes were all very generous. There are various condiment stations that provide a range of chillies, soy, vinegar to choose from. We were served a complimentary jug of ice cold water which was really appreciated for the warm Summer we were experiencing. We all enjoyed our meals and would have loved to try their Gyozas and dinner selection next time. I highly recommend Hato’s and will certainly be...

At Hato, the Chicken Katsu Soba is a culinary masterpiece that tantalizes the taste buds with its perfect blend of textures and flavors. The crispy exterior of the chicken katsu gives way to tender, succulent meat, creating a delightful contrast. The soba noodles, with their earthy undertones, provide a hearty base for the dish.

What sets this dish apart is the meticulous attention to the broth. The savory broth, enriched with umami notes, elevates the entire experience. Each slurp is a journey through the rich flavors that meld seamlessly with the tender chicken and toothsome noodles. The balance of soy and dashi creates a nuanced broth that leaves a lasting impression.

The addition of fresh green onions and crisp tempura flakes adds a burst of freshness and a delightful crunch. The dish is a symphony of flavors – from the savory umami of the broth to the satisfying crunch of the chicken katsu. Hato's Chicken Katsu Soba is a culinary delight that showcases the artistry of...

this spot is one of the long standing venues in @brisbanecity serving up some soul warming and yummy Japanese dishes made by their talented and passionate chefs!🤩🥳

🍲hitori nabe 🍜beef sukiyaki udon ✨agedashi tofu 🍗katsu toji set 🔥unagi donburi 🥟pork gyoza

we had a feeeaaassttt here! starting off with their udon and katsu toji set, the udon had a great flavour and after mixing in the onsen egg it unlocks an even creamier taste! i love their sets as they come with rice and side dishes, the katsu was unique with a egg mixture around it, quite tasty!🔥🍗

after being told that their unagi donburi was popular, we had to try it, and now we know why! loaded with smokey flavours and cooked perfectly, so yum🥳our favorite definitely had to be their hitori nabe hotpot though, with generous chunks of chicken, a variety of ingredients, all surrounded by a simple but delicious broth🍲pro tip to add in the egg and rice at the end to turn it...

I ordered beef sukiyaki and didn’t notice that there is raw egg in it as it is not stated on the menu. I asked staff to cook the egg and she was reluctant at first, saying that the egg is like this. I said I can’t eat raw egg, she then took it back to the kitchen and got the egg cooked. When she brought the bowl back, she was rudely dropped the bowl on the table with a huge sound of “bang”. The rice is cold and so as the beef, which is also hard to chew, like it is leftover from yesterday. Will never come back again. In conclusion, cold food during lunch hour, because they are “busy”. Food portion is small, which is smaller than a baby’s meal. Egg is raw, without telling you on the menu or when you order.
