Did not enjoy.
So I decide to have a nice lunch date with my wife, we figure...hey! lets go get a burger at that new place in the wintergarden. She orders a beef burger, side of fries and a coke. Being a vegetarian, I went with the only non-meat option on the menu - the vege burger.
Upon selecting my size of burger (small / medium/ large), I am prompted with the option of sauces (I believe the options were sweet and spicy / spicy / garlic / and one other option). Immediately my attention is caught by the "sweet and spicy" option. "That sounds delicious!" I exclaim to myself. Orders placed, anticipation sets in, and within 10 minutes we have 2 monster burgers fresh off the grill ready to be consumed.
My first couple of bites were pretty good, nice milk bun and crispy vege patty with some fresh lettuce atop - then the gates of mordor opened and I was engulfed by a world of searing mouth heat. What continued was an excruciating lunch time experience, and I'm not normally one to turn away from a little hot sauce (I do enjoy the occasional el yucateco dressing), but this was like no natural burn. I can only assume that "spicy" was applied to my lunch, instead of the requested "sweet and spicy", because that sauce was HOT. I'm talking "do I need to goto the hospital?" HOT.
I write this to you, as I am slowly recovering from what i can only describe as an assault on my senses.
Otherwise it was great.

Read moreA burger is much more than then the sum of its individual parts. Eating a burger is more akin to a spiritual journey, a pilgrimage into the very heart and soul of an individuals own culinery haram. Like a strong hug from a drunk Aunty, Jees Bread Bun clung onto its contents until the very last bite, an absoute neccesity to ensure the structural integrity of the Burger contents are maintained. Whilst the type of Burgers eaten by our company 'Burger Appreciation Society' were different, all were flavoursome and the salad componants fresh and crunchy. Mastication of the meaty contents was a simple affair, and were indulged in voraciously and loudly by the team. Numerous napkins were needed to tidy up faces from the moistness and slightly spiced flavours of the delicious sauce. The Service was ample, and the food arrived quickly, a must for the Society who when not engaged in Burger Appreciation meetings are busy doing other things not nearly as important. The price was standard for inner city Brisbane. If in a larger group, the Society would recommend patrons eating outside at the various larger tables. There is limited space in Jees 'Front of House' area where the line up extends out the door. The Society will definitly eat at Jee's...
Read moreOMG! My partner and I were both super impressed with the beef cheese and bacon burgers and the honey garlic chicken :O So tasty! 100% recommend. We're absolutely coming back when we're next up in Brisbane.
Beefy Burgers: The burgers themselves were super filling and we definitely regretted ordering two small chips because the burgers could have been enough on their own! The buns were so soft. For once it was a big burger you don't have to unhinge your jaw to enjoy. We both had the sweet/spicy sauce on our burgers and it went so well with the other elements of the burger.
Korean Fried Chicken: The chicken was crispy without being dry. The sauce was flavourful without being overwhelming, and it was barely greasy at all. Could definitely see myself eating too many of these! The coleslaw was good with a nice kinda spicy mayo.
The chips: Can't speak to what they'd be like eating these inside the restaurant ... unfortunately they don't travel well (we had to ubereats this order), but they were still tasty! Just a...
