I arranged for a meal here before my family returned overseas having not seen them for 4 years. I was hoping for an experience the children amongst us would remember. 12 people total (8 adults & 4 children), so we were put on a long table with 3 BBQs. That was fine and expected, but what wasn't expected was the staff's insistence that they would only provide coals for 2 BBQs because we had only ordered 2 mega meat sets (never mind that we'd ordered a massive amount of food in total so we had plenty of options for everyone). I offered to buy coals, but was insistently told it was company policy not to provide the service. That would have meant a big part of the group being excluded from the experience and not getting to be at a BBQ but instead watching on, excluded. Not a good feeling!
I should have cancelled the booking the day before when the person taking it required an undertaking from me that all 12 guests would make a minimum $30 spend. Easily done, but when I asked if that even applied to children and babies I got the same response: $30 a person, minimum. Seriously??? It felt greedy and unhelpful.
We spent $467 for the 12 of us for lunch and the extraordinary and unnecessary fuss over not having all the BBQs lit really detracted from the experience. I felt very embarrassed because I had suggested the restaurant after having had a good experience there before with a smaller group (where we only needed one BBQ!).
We ordered 2 beers and a coke half way through the meal. There would have been 10 minutes between the delivery of the 2 beers (despite pushing the table buzzer to try and get some attention from the waiting staff) and we ended up leaving without the coke after waiting about half an hour for it and it never arriving.
This seemed to be one of those businesses where staff aren't empowered to fix issues for their customers but instead have to work rigidly inside rules without regard for context or common sense.

We went to the restaurant and it was full, she asked us to sign our name and phone number on the queue list and she promised us she will call us back when there is a vacant table. She said it should be about 20 minutes. So we trust her and we went outside of the restaurant. After about 40 minutes, we did not receive any call from the restaurant, so we called it back, but no one took the call. We have to went the restaurant back and we found our name has been removed from the queue list. We asked the watress for an explanation, she said she called us but we were not available. I immediately showed her my phone calling history to told her there is no any record that indicates she called us. She then said she overlooked the 7 to 1. I wrote the number very clear! I asked her to show the calling history to approve her assertion that she called us but she doesn't want to do it. I then asked her to find her boss, she said the boss is busy. No any apology to us. What a day! 40 minutes for nothing. eventually we cannot wait and stand the waitress anymore, we left the restaurant. To the boss of this restaurant. I know your restaurant is very busy sometimes. I've been here many times. But it seems things have gone extremely downhill recently. Food is overpriced. Meat quality is poor. Customer service is atrocious.
Recent vusit: I went on a busy Friday night. I had to put my name on the waiting list, was told at least half hour wait so my partner and I went shopping while we waited. It was half an hour and still no call so I went up to the restaurant to see if a table was free while partner continued her shopping. Turns out they called just as I was walking up the stairs and I missed the call (it's too noisy to hear the phone ring). Ended up having to sit on the bench for another table to free up.
While waiting, I was given a menu and the waitress tried to hurry me into making an order. I told her my partner wasn't here yet so I couldn't order. At this point, I really felt like walking out because I wasn't being treated nicely.
She eventually seated me at a table but she suddenly took the menu from me while I had my head down and I didn't know what was going on at first. Really need to make your intentions clearer.
