Was far from the quality and authenticity I expected from the website. Menu was misleading on items and/or did not match the descriptions. Which I have photos of. This ruined the whole meal. Pizzas are thin and crispy traditional style. But were too soggy in the middle/main part of the base. Toppings sliding off, flopping and falling apart, going everywhere. Didn't like the messiness in both ways the eating experience and the look. Fettucine said made in house" didn't have that hand made texture but maybe still could have been Ragu di pesce: Housemade fettucine, braised mixed seafood cooked in a pinot grigio sauce. Didn't mention anything about tomatoes (I don't like to order tomato based pastas when eating out) This had a heap of it which was overpowering and not enjoyable for me. Mentioning main parts of the dish is a must as it was unexpected. If I knew I could have ordered something else I might have enjoyed. Told the staff this but no result. What I was expecting was maybe a white sauce, mixed olive oil based sauce like an aglio e olio or white wine sauce cooked to a reduction like a vongole. This was like having canned tomatoes or tomato puree placed on top. If you look up a pinot grigio sauce you don't get see results like this! La costa: tomato, garlic prawnS" and marinated mixed seafood, parsley and salsa verde Worst pizza experience ever. Although cheese, mozzarella or fior di latte etc wasn't mentioned in the menu you would assume cheese would be standard as its a pizza or at least say so like how sometimes pizzas don't have that tomato based sauce and it's mentioned. There was only ONE PLAIN PRAWN. Was expecting several as it listed "garlic prawns" in the menu and for that price plus no cheese cost. Was way too much sauce and NO parsley. Mentioned this to the waiter that it saids prawns meaning plural and you'd expect more as it's the highlight of the dish which he said it's just a decoration/garnish which I repeated my complaint about the misleading description which he said he'll tell the chef and see how he can fix it but no result. Carnivora Fior di latte, tomato, pancetta, smoked ham, hot sopressa salami, oregano Wanted to at least leave satisfactory and order something that I'm familar with that would not be misleading that I've had elsewhere with success. Not at all. This was like everything was chucked on in a second. The sliced cured meats weren't even laid out flat like how it usually would be. Salami was all scrunched up. I'll give credit that it was spicy though. Although what wasn't good was that it took so long for my red wine to come out. I like to drink my wine as I'm eating the food not almost finished plus needed it as it was spicy. I ordered both around the same time and the food takes so long so it should have arrived earlier. There was a slight watery taste as 1 of the meats might have been thawed not fresh. Drinks and service Ordered 2 pinot grigios at first. Only 1 arrived. When I got to finally tell the waiter he said with the other waiter I only ordered 1. Don't tell me that! I clearly said 2 plus the pinot grigio was his recommendation based on the seafood pairing. I changed to the vermentino after which took awhile to arrive and he said the bar was busy but there was 3 bar staff and it didn't look busy. When paying and asking how everything was I expressed the mislead and the unexpected surprises but nothing was really done just a simple apology. Noticed in the elevator leaving they charged for 2 vermentinos instead even though it was 2 pinot grigios originally even though finally it was 1 pinot grigio, 1 vermentino for the whites. At least a chef overhead and took us back to fix it up. 2% surcharge for card didn't expect it at an upmarket place like this but it happens.

Chef David is a very funny and hospitality person to our group when we have pizza class at his restaurant. The waitress Jen is also very friendly and provides very good service during our pizza class. Highly recommended to any one who would like to have great time and good pizza at La Acosta Restaurant.

I'm not sure where all the compliments below are coming from, but certainly not from Italian nationals... We were having dinner with friends for a birthday celebration. There were only four tables occupied in the entire restaurant, plus maybe a small function in another room, yet after placing our order, the food took over 50 minutes to arrive. The tables around us were visibly frustrated and irritated by the long wait. The pizzas we received turned rock-hard just a few minutes after being served. And then the highlight of the evening... the $33 meat platter. On this so-called meat platter, there was a massive bunch of grapes, a jar of what were supposed to be grilled vegetables, gnocco fritto, focaccia, some kind of breadsticks, four slices of salami and four slices of prosciutto crudo. But where was the rest of the meat? Excuse me, but do I need to get upset before receiving what I actually ordered? Do you really think it's acceptable to serve something like this at that price? Not to mention my friend’s rigatoni, which was so overcooked that it fell apart on his fork. Never again. That being said, the cocktails were good, and the waitresses were kind and accommodating. Unfortunately, they had to endure my frustration, even though it wasn’t their fault. P.S. Half of our table was made up of Italians Chefs, Pizzaiolos, and Restaurant Managers.

Terrible experience. We arrived mid morning for a spontaneous and quick Sunday breakfast after finishing the bridge to Brisbane run (quick because there were only 2-3 other tables occupied when we arrived). Coffee took ages however was great. Downhill from there. We waited an hour for our food (our orders were basic), no check in to say there was a delay or ask if we wanted any more drinks. 2/3 of the dishes came out wrong. I advised the ?manager, we weren’t impressed and the orders were incorrect, he proceeded to make the excuse “oh we had no bookings so didn’t expect today to be busy”. He also said he’d do us a special price which did not occur.

Bridge to Brisbane is a big event, there are signs all over the city, roads shut, the race finished literally around the corner, and the position of the restaurant is directly opposite the train station, this is bad planning guys and shameful! It’s evident reading other reviews this restaurant is repeatedly serving up mediocre food and experiences. Do better! We will not return.

*my response to the owners response: It is evident this establishment cannot take negative feedback.

Please don’t lie, this is incredibly disrespectful - we definitely did not receive 2 rounds of complimentary coffee, you obviously have us confused with another table who were clearly also not impressed with your service (we overheard two tables near us with disgruntled customers).

Yes apologies were made, but only when we complained.

Absolutely the last couple of years have been terrible and challenging for hospitality and other businesses, which is all the more reason to be better prepared and up to date with current events in your area, so your business has the best opportunity to build it’s name up as the...

Held my 28th birthday here with a party of 25. Prior to the night, I was in touch with events manager who was very helpful and prompt in replying to my emails. Jackie displayed a well mannered attitude and was eager to meet my requirements to make this dinner a success. On night at arrival, I was very frustrated to see my guests split onto two separate tables - which were far apart. Because of the size of my group I completely understand that having 2 tables is necessary, but it never occurred to me they would place them so away from each other (literally looked like it was 2 separate parties). Another booking of approx 20 people came through and staff rearranged tables and chairs to make their table one long one. After voicing my disappointment and unfairness, I was pleased that the manager took time to do the same for me and my group.

The food on the other hand, I personally think was really good. I got many positive feedback on the dishes.

Because my event was a birthday, there were ongoing orders of drinks. We were told we couldn't get up and walk to the bar due to Covid (understandable) and that it was table service for drink orders. There were only 3 waitresses and 2 bartenders that night, and the restaurant looked almost (if not) full of patrons. Hopefully staff didn't feel as overwhelmed as they looked. By the end of the night, we all had to line up to pay for our drinks separately (25 girls took some time to get through).

Management were very nice and I know they tried their hardest to accommodate for me on the night. I do wish it was more staffed as well as a bit more organised - just to save time reshuffling and worrying over...
