Percolated in Woolloongabba, a haven for the weary and bleary-eyed, emerges as a beacon of culinary redemption, particularly for those emerging from the depths of a casino night. The air here, tinged with the aftermath of reckless abandon, finds its antithesis in the poached eggs and bacon - a dish so flawlessly executed it could sober the senses. Avo on the side, not merely as an afterthought, but as a creamy accomplice, and the feta, a mere whisper, yet potent enough to lift the dish into the realms of the sublime.
The mushrooms, oh the mushrooms! They arrive, bearing the secret of perfect seasoning, a gastronomic joy so intense it borders on the illicit. And the bacon - not just bacon, but a crispy, delish revelation, a triumphant rebuke to all prior encounters with this oft-mundane staple.
But let's not forget the iced coffee, a robust, taste-laden concoction, strong enough to jolt even the most jaded palate back to life. This isn't just coffee; it's a lifeline, a potent elixir for those who've gambled the night away.
The setting? All outdoors, an oasis that feels paradoxically tropical amidst Woolloongabba's urban sprawl. Here, you're not just dining; you're recuperating, rejuvenating under the caress of a gentle breeze, surrounded by an ambiance that whispers of simpler times.
In sum, Percolated isn't merely a café; it's a sanctuary for the senses, a place where the aftermath of a heavy night at the casino finds its cure, not in more indulgence, but in the simple, profound joy of perfectly crafted...
Read moreUpdated: it appears the owner might have changed. It is now run by a different person, and the coffee beans are now from Tim Adams instead of Zest. Tim Adams coffee beans are good, but limited varieties, they serve only one blend of choice for coffee. The shop still offers batch brew but I arrived too late, it's "closed". The barista said they brew it "fresh" upon customer order! When kitchen is closed they stilll offer wraps that can be toasted. Be sure to bring your own fly fans as the gang of flies here are quite persistent.
Previously in 2024: A cozy coffee shop at a quiet corner of busy suburb. Uses Espresso coffee blend from Zest roaster. The batch brew I tasted was excellent: fruity berry-like and very sweet, with hints of Earl Grey (tea like). Today they are short of hands, only the owner(?) is running the shop. Hope the milk frothing for flat white could be better, but the flavour of the coffee drink is great. Ham and cheese toastie was great, hot enough, cripsy, and the cheese ham was not over salted like many others. I wanted to try their waffle but unfortunately kitchen closed 1.5 hours before shop closure....
Read moreBeware - I donât understand why the rating is so high here? The waffles were so dry even with maple syrup (which I paid extra for as it wasnât included in the Nutella and banana). The waffles tasted like they were out of a packet. The eggs Benedict was bad - the English muffins werenât toasted enough, the bacon tasted off and wasnât fully cooked, the halloumi wasnât cooked (which we paid extra for), the hollandaise was tasteless (definitely out of a packet) and spinach was cold. To be honest it was all food I could have made at home and made better, which is not what you want when eating out. I feel like everything came out of a packet from Woolies. The atmosphere was also quiet and cold down the side - some heaters and more uplifting music would have made it better. The staff don't really greet you warmly or want to interact - they tell you to order off the QR code. They also just place the food down without finding who ordered what. One positive - the coffee wasnât too bad. Again, donât rely on the reviews here!! Grab a takeaway coffee and...
