I LOVE Thai Food……This is NOTHING like Thai Food! It was DISGUSTING & INSULTING considering how much they charge for this SLOP! I ordered Red Chicken Curry with Steamed Rice. What I got to take away was a bowl of MUSHY SLOP! Complete waste of Money! The Spring Roll I purchased as a side was dry & seemed like it was about 3 days old. The guy that was serving had a face like a smacked ass & was pretty impolite in the way he communicated with me as a customer. When I was handed the Slop Pot, I wasn’t given a bag or anything to carry the hot item in back to the hotel about 1/2 a mile away. They just piled everything together. No curry separate to the rice, so more like a bowl of curry gruel! The guy looked totally shocked when I asked if he could give me one. An absolute disgrace & pretty much inedible. I recommend getting a packet of crisps from the supermarket nearby. It will be a lot more nutritious, cheaper & will taste a lot better. You’ll probably get a smile from the person at the checkout too, not a grimace! Never again...
Read moreExceptional rudeness from the man serving for no apparent reason. We walked in to place a takeaway order at 08:00pm on a Friday night, after checking online (closing time stated 08:30). Asked if they were still serving and were told “50/50” and were asked what we want. They clearly weren’t closed as more orders were coming through online. The man serving proceeded to write these orders down (that was fine, we were happy to wait). Once he had finished noting other orders down I asked if they served a Pad Kee Mao or Drunken Noodle as there was no menu available. He rudely responded “no we don’t, I don’t know what that is.” I then asked if I could see a menu- this clearly irritated him, so we said not to worry and that we would go elsewhere.
He may have been having a bad day, however we were polite throughout. As a business owner, I would encourage you not to take your own frustrations out on customers for no reason. Your day may have been tough, but you also don’t know what had happened during someone else’s day. Be...

Som Saa Wok & Grill is a slightly hidden treasure, tucked away underneath the Energex HQ—you wouldn’t stumble upon it unless you knew it was there. While I haven’t visited during the day, at night it tends to be quiet, which makes for a peaceful, no-fuss dining experience (no elbowing for a table here!).
The menu leans a little pricey, but I’ve spotted them on EatClub, which makes it a great spot to nab a midweek dinner bargain if you time it right. And the food? Solid. Flavourful, satisfying, and well presented—definitely worth a try if you’re craving Thai-style grilled dishes with a bit of flair.
It may not be the busiest spot in town, but if you’re after good food in a calm, low-key setting, Som Saa is well...
