I didn't expect that I will be writing such a bad review but I am disappointed with the food and service at so many levels that I couldn't help myself.

I ordered via Doordash on the 12th Feb Evening and the first problem with the order was incorrect item for dinner instead of chilli chicken, samosas were delivered . This wouldn't have been a big problem in itself if there were not other major problems.

Ordered dal makhni which is a staple item in punjabi indian food and what I got , saw and tasted was unbelievable. There were black lentils individual balls floating in some sort of a disgusting tomato puree and cream which was tasteless and stone cold. Anyone who has ever cooked this dal or eaten at other restaurants would know that Dal Makhni is not what I have just described.

The rotis were burnt and stone cold. Lachha Prantha was so bad and all stone cold.

Now I will come to the last item Amritsari fish as a main dish what I got was may be a dozen or odd pieces of fried fish and thats it. It was not edible and it was not what was described that it will be served with salad, there was no salad. The fish pieces had no flavour all I could taste was oil it was deep fried in.

In the end I had no option but to throw the food away .

It goes without saying will never order again.

And to the owner please don't copy paste your response to other 1 star reviews to my review . I am expecting a genuine response this time and also I was told the owner would call me which never...

Will never eat here again. First mistake was ordering our food using the delivery company on their website. It never arrived. When I called the restaurant I was told to call that company and follow up a driver. The food was ready and sitting there. We picked it up ourselves. Naan bread was old and cold, the curries are not worth going back for. Terrible service and average food for the price. So disappointing!!

Thanks for your reply. I suggest you change your delivery company. They requested a review.... to which I gave them a 1 star and they have changed to a 5 star. I see they have done with all of their other bad reviews as well. Also how would you know what the issue was with the driver, I am the one who called them to find out where the driver was because your staff member wanted nothing to do with it. She was prepared for our food to sit there until it got cold telling me I had to follow up the company that your business has chosen to use. I doubt that's trying to give your...

Do not under any circumstances order food from here. My daughter and I got food from here last week and we have had a stomach bug since. This whole experience has turned me off this place, and Indian cuisine in its entirety.

Edited to reply to you Klay oven: Having been a chef for 10 years, I have some understanding of food borne related illnesses take on average, 2-8 hours to manifest. My daughter and I ate in the morning and nothing until we ate your food. Also, HACCP principles dictate that food not be kept for too long and be allowed to get beneath 60C for periods of time dependent on the protein type. The food we received was not hot and I suspect had been sitting for some time which may have lead to the development of food borne pathogens.

Don’t worry, I won’t be visiting again and I have made complaints to the relevant authorities. If I were you, I’d start digging out those temperature record sheets you’re mandated to...

I recently ordered (takeaway)from The Klay Oven and was quite disappointed with the overall experience. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala (medium Indian spice), Sabudana Tikka as a starter, two Masala Naans, and one Garlic Naan. The Sabudana Tikka was decent in flavor, though noticeably oily. Unfortunately, the Chicken Tikka Masala was a major letdown — it tasted more like plain tomato puree than the rich, spiced curry you’d expect from a proper tikka masala. The Masala Naans also lacked the punch and flavor that usually make them a highlight. The total came to $64.25, which felt far from justified for the quality of food delivered. If you’re looking for authentic Indian flavors, I wouldn’t recommend this place. It just doesn’t deliver the taste or value.👎🏻

Latest visit: Kashmiri Pulao surprised me with its flavour. A unique blend of Coconut + nuts and raisins. Very tasty! Pour Butter chicken curry onto Butter chicken Pizza. Thats one tasty pizza that is off the charts! Gobi 65 is a lovely combination of sweet and crunchy all rolled into one. Worth trying if you have yet to. Authentic north Indian cuisine. Good balance of flavour and nothing too sweet. My favourites are the pizza and lamb biryani. Pizza is thick and fully loaded. Full of flavour, generous toppings and hits the spot everytime. Lamb biryani is tasty and balanced. Generous portions of soft tender lamb with the taste of the biryani spices. Highly recommend! I adore this restaurant! The food is incredible always, I’ve never once been disappointed, and is always of a super high quality. Huge menu to choose from also and the owners are very happy to recommend dishes to you. Speaking of the owners, they are by far some of the loveliest people I’ve encountered in the neighbourhood and always make you feel extremely welcome. The pappadams and mango chutney deserve a special mention also. My go tos are the Kali Mirch beef and Punjabi Veg Curry.. enjoy! Also it’s dog friendly, so a bonus!
