The product was fairly ok, the service, prices and servings are a bit of a stitch up. Had made 5 orders and on the 5th, was brought to their attention how uneven and to be frank, poor and lazy their flavour portions are in the bigger 1L - 1.5L tubs they offer. They consistently taper flavours to nothing at the base as you get through the tubs, and the vast majority of the time, the lesser popular flavours are far bigger portion sizes. Following this, the 6th order was extremely uneven and strongly feel this was intentional (after letting them know about the previous orders getting worse). Please consider this shop owners and staff; imagine walking into a caffè as a customer. You order a cappuccino. 3 quarters of it is froth/air with a thin slither of coffee at the bottom of the cup. would you be satisfied? pay $6-$8 full price? go back to that establishment? what about after multiple purchases? what would you do/say?
The exorbitant mark up for ordering on uber, uber fees, delivery fee and whatever the other âfeesâ are, which are added at checkout when using uber+/promo discount services etc. are bad enough let alone cost of living. One may fairly assume theyâll get something close to what they are paying for, not less and less again over time and then even less again after raising the issue. One could also assume, being a newly regular customer, theyâd be valued, clearly not. But itâs ok, there is a competition store (G.M.) which is cheaper, has far more flavours, is friendlier and they make a genuine effort to give even portions on ALL flavours they offer from top to bottom of the tub 𫡠(see photos for comparison).
Pro tip; taper your costs, issues and attitudes the same way you taper your portion serves at the bottom of your tubs. Wonât be back, thanks for the...
Read morePortion size is crazy small. Walked in randomly after dinner, my partner ask for a recommendation on flavour we were told theyâre all the âbestâ without really any helpful explanation or introduction.
We ordered Medium with 3 flavours, but the guy who served was really stingy on the scoops, the cup was tiny and pretty much flat, the last flavour didnât even âmountainâ out of the tiny cup, was off to one side and looked like 1/4 of a scoop. I didnât get a photo, the presentation was bad if you can imagine how sad the cup was. Other customers were abit bigger at least had the mountain shape. I DID say it was really small when he handed us the gelato but nothing was offered just kept asking if we wanted something else. $9 will get you more at Messina or Anita, the flavour was very creamy soft and milky. I can tell itâs a smaller boutiqy bussiness type, maybe I just got bad luck with the server.
I have been reading a lot of the lesser Star reviews seems like the owner always has an excuse and does not want admit that their service and portion needs improvement. A lot of the reply seems to revolve around blaming the customer of not speaking up in the moment, but I did and...
Read moreThis is a must visit when you are in this part of town. You will get quite possibly the best and most authentic gelato in Brisbane.
The gelato is super fresh with the most amazing flavours. I felt bad as I was very indecisive as this was my first visit but the attendant was patient and super helpful talking about the different flavours and offered me taste tests. I ended up getting probably two of their staple flavours - Fior Di Latte and Bacio which had whole (not chopped or âflavouringâ)hazelnuts in the gelato which was a welcome surprise.
I found the pricing to be very reasonable, especially for the quality. $8.50 for the large cup which you could have up to 3 flavours, and at first you might think that the sizes are on the smaller side, they are deceptively big and the large would be more than enough for even the biggest sweet tooth.
Overall this was a great experience with the quality food and service but also the shop itself is welcoming, and I love that you can see into the kitchen and watch the...
