Kebaba Restaurant کبابه رستورانت — Restaurant in District of Canberra Central

This Turkish restaurant is peculiar. This particular store has a store front that gives off the impression that it only does take away, but it has a small dine in area hidden down the back. The space feels a bit neglected in the sense that there isn't really any waitstaff.

On that note, the service is also peculiar. It takes a long time to get served (we had to get our own menus and then go to the counter to order) and for the food to arrive. However when you do eventually get to talk to someone the staff are genuinely friendly.

However all of that can be forgiven. The food is tasty and fresh. The pide is good, particularly the Kusbasili.

The best kebab in canberra. Hubby and I would travel from southside just to eat here coz it’s grilled and love their garlic with cucumber sauce and the hummus (if the owner is not there it’s too dry). I usually order the chicken and lamb skewers and their salad doesn’t have much feta/cucumber/olives anymore as it was before but their meat marinades and grilling is the best, plus they close late coz my hubby is a nurse and usually comes home late so this is are go to. My friends and I made a big order of skewers 🍱 for our party in our university campus. The food was prepared on time and packed perfectly to stay as hot and tasty as it should be for up to two hours, until the end of our event. The food was prepared in its original Turkish way. We had food from multi-cultural restaurants, like Malay food and Italian food. However, the Turkish food we got from Kebaba was the best 😋 according to all the students.
