Fantastic place! Dips and bread are heavenly.... perfectly textured and balanced and oh so good. Shareplates are phenomenal but the moussaka paddle pops are close to a culinary apotheosis... the most delightful labne ever paired with the best creme roast red capsicum sauce ever coated in the most heavenly light battered crumb. I could live on this in heaven. Don't approach their cocktails with preconceptions... they take the classics and make them very much their own . And their driest white (lyrararakis plyto) is unique. So dry, yet fruity with the slightest hint of retsina. Staff are great, prices are reasonable. Don't suffer fomo- go there! And just when you thought it couldn't be better.... the cheesecake and icecream is the Platonic ideal of both cheesecake and dessert. This is what cheesecake should be... filo pastry, a light fluffy cheese mousse with perfect balance of honey, salt and citrus and paired with an ethereal pistachio ice cream made by the front of house manager.... I can't write more... time to...
Read moreI visited this restaurant on 13 September for my birthday, but sadly it turned into a very disappointing experience.
We waited over 40 minutes for our first dish while later-arriving tables were served much earlier. After finishing several dishes, one hot dish was still missing, but instead of apologizing, a waitress (Eve) responded with rude and dismissive comments such as “Do you want me to take it off the bill and get you the bill?” She even rolled her eyes, showed obvious frustration, and slammed the kitchen door. Later, she told me directly “you can go now”—which is shocking to hear as a paying guest on a special occasion.
Another waiter did try to apologize, but by then the evening was already ruined. I had chosen this place based on Redbook and Google reviews, expecting a warm, celebratory atmosphere, but unfortunately the service completely destroyed the experience.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good service or a special...
Read moreReading the latest reviews for this place shows the Canberra bubble is alive and well. When getting Greek in Sydney the standard to expect is great taste and big portions. This truly missed the mark for both.
I had high hopes prior but price paid for what you got was terrible. Almost $40 for 5 small prawns cooked in tomato sauce - and this is before they add everyones favourite weekend & card surcharges of 11.5%. Taste of the food is best summed up as "meh" and this alongside the lack of value was consistent across all dishes tried.
Not sure whos idea the chairs were either but they would be one of the most uncomfortable chairs I've sat on in a restaurant.
Staff were nice enough.
If you are going to charge this price point you either need to deliver in portion size, quality or preferably both. This missed the mark which is a pity as it would have been nice to have a good Greek place...
