Went in to buy a few items tonight around 7:05 - 7:20pm. After getting the items (strawberries, banana, black plum, frozen berries, beef mince and chicken thigh), I walked and placed my items on the counter (left counter when facing exit door) then walked to place my empty basket where the empty baskets are. When I got back to the counter, there were already 3 items on the screen. The first item was a soda pop refill ($15) which was not an item I picked up. I asked the cashier why that item is there, pointing at the screen and he said he doesn't know. He continued scanning so I asked him to please remove/cancel the 1st item. He looked inside the bag, didn't see any soda pop refill and only then did he removed/cancelled the item. If I didn't check the items on the cart, I would have been overcharged with $15.

It may be accidental or something wrong with your system or something else, I hope someone will look into this matter so it doesn't...

I recently had a concerning experience at this IGA store regarding food safety.

I purchased a 'Deli reduced meal' that was being kept in a food warmer near the checkout.

When I opened the meal, I noticed that the meat was way below room temperature, suggesting it had likely been taken straight from the fridge and placed directly into the warmer, where it had been sitting all morning. Either that or the food heater wasn’t functioning well.

Food should not be below room temperature after taking it out of a warmer.

This is a major cause for concern, as bacteria rapidly multiply between 5°C and 60°C (the temperature danger zone).

Despite trying to explain the hazard to the staff, I was met with confusion and a smirk.

I returned the meal and received a refund. It’s important for the store to understand and follow proper food safety practices to ensure customer health...

I’ve seen other reviews about the quality of the food here and wanted to add that they don’t seem to rotate their stock or check stocks use by date. I have bought butter last week around the end of July, was wondering why it had a weird taste and then checked the best before date showing as 15/07/2025. Selling us out of date products is not a great standard. For the price you pay for some of these goods compared to Woolies etc because of its location, you would expect the quality of the goods sold to be top notch. You also have staff packing shelves with unbearable body odour lingering in the aisles. Might need to have a conversation with your staff about...
