Hush Specialty Coffee: A Coffee Lover's Oasis (Where Silence Isn't Required)
Okay, let's be honest, the name "Hush" is a bit misleading. This place is far from a library. But hey, who needs whispering when you've got caffeine coursing through your veins?
Hush Specialty Coffee in Freo is a haven for coffee addicts, and I, my friends, am a proud card-carrying member of that club.
The Coffee: Let's get down to business. The coffee here is top-notch. They use Five Senses beans, which are basically the Beyoncé of the coffee world. I ordered a cappuccino, and it was so smooth and creamy, I almost proposed marriage to the barista (don't worry, I restrained myself).
The Staff: Speaking of the barista, the staff here are all incredibly friendly and helpful. They know their coffee like the back of their hand, and they're always happy to chat about the different beans and brewing methods.
The Vibe: Hush has a cool, laid-back atmosphere. It's the perfect place to catch up with friends, get some work done, or just people-watch while sipping on your delicious coffee. The only downside is that it can get a bit crowded, especially on weekends. But hey, that's a testament to how good this place is.
Overall: Hush Specialty Coffee is a must-visit for any coffee lover in Fremantle. The coffee is amazing, the staff is awesome, and the vibe is chill. Just don't expect it to be quiet. In fact, be prepared to shout your order over the roar of the coffee grinder and the chatter of...
Read moreI felt guilty about leaving a bad review of a place so well rated and popular..., the same reasons I wanted to come and try it in the first place, but reading some previous reviews I feel reassured I'm not the only one who felt this way about my Hush experience. It's really a shame as it looks like it could be one of my fav spot to hang out being a lover of this kind of cosy coffee shop with wooden warm atmosphere and decoration style, small rooms and nothing fancy.. But I was disappointed by the cabinet & the menu as not many choices were offered, nice stuff though, my food was good, not amazing but nice. Same for the coffee. However my most and first source of disappointment was the service and the staff... Not a single smile or warm words from any of the 4 different persons I spoke to, staff working on the tables were dragging their feet the whole time, even at the rush hour, and returning to counter/kitchen empty handed when tables were full of things to clear.. Didn't feel like the cosy / effective/ sweet atmosphere I was expecting. Might give another try another day to see if I was just unlucky...
Read moreNot what it used to be. This was known as one of Fremantle’s premium coffee spots. The coffee is still pretty good but the other aspects have changed. I’ve been here 3-4 times over the past couple of months so have had a reasonable sample. The service is consistently unfriendly. The food is lacklustre at best. Today our table was not cleaned even though the cafe was not busy. The batch brew coffee was luke warm. I ordered a plain croissant which was inedibly stale on delivery. I complained and the staff member brought out another croissant and said it was also stale but a little less stale, is that ok? I said no thank you and the issue was resolved with a refund, but the question remains why are they selling stale food, especially something as simple as a croissant. My partner had a savoury muffin which was edible but also had obviously been sitting there for a few days. It’s clear there is no attention to detail or care going into this place. Freo has a great range of amazing cafes, don’t waste your time...
