Shirley’s is a charming new addition to Fremantle’s dining scene, brought to life by the talented team behind Manuka Restaurant. This cosy, modern bistro offers a European-inspired menu and an inviting atmosphere that feels both intimate and stylish.

The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, though the small venue and limited waitstaff team mean they’re often quite busy. Despite this, the food was served at a well-timed pace, though drinks did take a little longer to arrive during our visit.

As for the food, it was excellent. The textures and flavours were thoughtfully balanced, showcasing the kitchen’s skill and attention to detail. The menu is versatile, allowing for dishes to be shared or enjoyed individually, which adds to the flexibility of the dining experience. Portions were generous without being overwhelming.

The cocktails and wine offerings were equally impressive, with a deep and varied selection that perfectly complemented the food.

Overall, Shirley’s delivers a fantastic dining experience that’s well worth a visit. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu and enjoy the warm,...

I struggled a little to write this review. While I can see why this place has so many high ratings, our experience didn’t quite hit the same heights. Service from the main waitress, when we had it, was beautiful, but we would have liked more of it. Service from the other two was fine but unremarkable.

The focaccia ($7) with garlic butter ($6) was tasty but far too oily. The beef cheek curry was also delicious, though in my view it really needed a rice accompaniment - bok choy or potatoes just didn’t cut it.

A real highlight was the non-alcoholic cocktails, which went well beyond the usual “soft drink in a highball glass.” They were thoughtfully created, genuinely non-alcoholic cocktails rather than just mocktails.

That said, the menu didn’t feel extensive enough to tempt me back. I’d probably only return if the level of passionate engagement from the staff rose above “just service” to something...

Everything was excellent, we got greeted and got to choose our table, The environment felt cosy and welcoming. The chef was outstanding making suggestions, We went for the focaccia and chorizo as our starters, they were both amazing and to die for in terms of everything, presentation, texture, flavour, balance and mouth feel. For our mains between 2 of us we shared the lamb, pork belly and the broccolini, damn, these were just incredible, the lamb was so tender, it was by far the most tender lamb i've had in my years on this earth! The pork was cooked to perfection and it seasoned amazingly with the crackle having an amazing crunch. For dessert, I cant explain the dopimine rush I got, it was a special with what is seemed to be a caramlised pear and icecream, the combination was perfect and was an amazing way to end an evening.

Definately...
