ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS…….
A couple of friends and I came in for dinner tonight(Saturday 21st)
We were greeted by a very disgruntled employee with a poor attitude, young guy who had a ring in his nose & a dreadful attitude.
After ordering our meal we waited patiently, just chatting.
Our meals came out and mine was stone cold and the bun rock hard!
I stopped a young waitress to let her know, she just rolled her eyes and took it away.
After 25 or so minutes my friends had finished their meals and were ready to go home. My meal had still not be replaced nor had any staff member engage with me to let me know what was going on.
My friends wanted to go home as we had a very long day at work and had an early morning flight.
I went to the young lady whom took my order and explained the situation, again there was the rolls of the eyes before she went to check the dockets.
My friends didn’t want to wait any longer and left.
The waitress advised my burger was about to be cooked……30 or so minutes after i had sent it back.
I explained that it was all too late and she then responded ‘yeh but it’ll be ready soon, just take it away’
If I wanted a takeaway meal I wouldn’t have gone out with friends to sit and watch them eat.
She never offered a refund nor an apology, which made me so frustrated that I just replied…..’Forget it, i’m leaving’ she had a smug look on her face.
So Grill’d Surfers Paradise, I will not be coming back to eat, will be broadcasting to everyone I know and in social media what a disgraceful experience I had and hope that after reading this review the franchise owner or venue manager takes a good look at their operation and does...
Read moreWARNING TO ALL CELIACS AND THOSE ALLERGIC TO GLUTEN AND LACTOSE!!! (Vegans too, I guess)
*Next day - My gutts have reacted to my lactose allergy, and it's bad... I clearly received lactose as well as gluten in my food. This Grill'd is a joke and should be shut down. Or maybe delete all the staff and management, and replace them with a team that is trained in allergy awareness. Being vegan isn't a disease... Celiac is! And lactose and gluten allergies are serious business.
I told the staff I have celiacs disease. To be fair, I am not celiac but I have severe gluten allergies. Usually when you tell the staff you have celiacs disease, they take you seriously. But these guys, they don't care...
I am now suffering severe pain from gluten being in my food... The food has made a serious impact on my gluten allergy and now I'm suffering hard... This is very unacceptable and I will be contacting the necessary food authorities to inform them that you have very unsafe work methods. It's lucky I'm NOT celiac because that's a very serious auto immune disease and your company needs to take this a lot more serious.
Everything I ordered was gluten free, including the sauces. Clearly I've been served food that was heavily cross contaminated. You need to train your staff about cross contamination, and the severity of celiacs disease. Pretty pathetic that I have to even tell you this, and that I need to deal with this on the first holiday I've had in over 15 years... Very sad indeed.
To top it all off, they were playing really bad pop "music" and it was as loud as a night club 🤦🏿 "look at me I'm so cool brahhhh..." Pathetic... Do you not care about people...
Read moreTaste 4/5 I ordered an Impossible Burger & Zucchini chips. The burger was great; the bun was fluffy and light, the salad was fresh and flavoursome. It was the first time I tried an impossible patty and I was delighted. Moist and packed with meaty goodness. That being said, that's expected and the sauce was the highlight of the burger which isn't a great thing. The Zucchini chips were the stand out of the meal. Super super crispy and loaded with salt. (Burger 3/5, Zucchini chips 5/5)
VFM 3/5 Rarely would I consider a single burger worth $17, and in this case considering the flavour and quality of the food & venue, I would not. In total, $23 for a burger and about 6 zucchini chips are quite poor VFM.
Atmosphere 2/5 The venue was quite mediocre. The chairs lacked cushioning and were uncomfortable and the music was annoying. The tables were very small; I don’t see how 4 people can share the tables they offer. I enjoyed the greenery and flora hung up and strewn about the exterior of the building.
Service 3/5 We were not greeted. The only interaction with the staff was the 5 seconds they placed our order infront of us. During which, their demeanour and energy was quite mild.
Accessibility 5/5 Being in the heart of Cavil, there are numerous parking points. Located on the ground floor it is perfectly wheelchair accessible. The main stand out which I enjoyed was that you were able to walk in and order from a table QR code - great for introverts but bad from a customer service...
