I review this second time because it needs to be done. Since i discovered Hakataya ramen in Surfers Paradise my culinary world changed. I Once skated there to try ramen for the first time in my life and i didnt know it is also the best ! Since then i tried different ramen on Gold Coast and i have to say I am disappointed every time i eat anywhere else so i just stopped trying and when I want good ramen i know I find it here. I had ramen this morning as well, the manager is always very friendly , smiling and super fast. They do make the BEST ramen in area of few thousand kilometers i believe. Its always the same , always as good as the first time. I dont eat Pizza, or burgers or anything else anymore, Nagahama ramen is my comfort food now.I believe you can only get ramen as good as this in Japan. Visiting frequently and i will be so so sad when i have to leave Australia. My plan is to try Ichiran ramen in Tokyo but i dont know if the can be as good as this ! Hands down this is the best ramen of Gold Coast, 20+ visits , never disappointed , always yummy. I would definitely enjoy if the had loyal customer card to get a free ramen every 10 visits or something like that 😂 Its the best !!! Thank...

The boss seems to be good when he come out , but the waitress at this Saturday night ( 14th of Jul )whom really should get fired. There is no greeting when guest coming in, when we seat there is no menu, even when we got the high chair ourself , the waitress seen it , pretend she didn’t see us when there are only 1 extra family in the shop at 8:00pm. I used to love this shop, but the service really should improve. So instead we went to Danbo , around the corner. Had what we want.I had to admin the soup Hakataya did a good job, however we came to the shop for not just the food , also for the transitional japanese style service. # Don’t let one individual employee piss off the client, really should improve the training , and fire those don’t know what service means,as we are very unhappy, but when the manager came out we already stand up and about the leave, so we don’t even want to seat again. Wish the shop can reshape into what it was. I am from melbourne , it used to be that when we come to Gold Coast we must go to this ramen place. However this time it really got me disappointed. Get it fixed, please ,We expect to see you change when we...

A place with zero service. We used to visit this place every time when we came to GC but this time was a total disappointment. We are a group of 4 adult and 1 little kid. There were only 2-3 tables of customers when we arrived. We sat down to settle the little one and started scanning the QR code to order/look at menu. The waiter came around and said we shouldn't be sitting down as other customers would come in finding no table/seat. Well if you do not let consumers look at menu / order using QR code, why would you have the QR codes sticking on the tables?

Well when our noodles arrived, we requested for an extra bowl so that we can pull some noodles out to cool down for the kid. The waiter refused our request saying you ordered the extra noodles, you can use the extra noodle bowl for that purpose. For my whole life in AUS, I have never got a refusal for extra plates/ bowls / cutlery. Not too mention the extra noodles and the bowls they come in are also hot...There's no way for us to use that bowl to cool noodles down.

This place is now removed from our GC list...

Probably the worst ramen I've ever paid for. In fact I actually make it better myself in around 20 minutes. Edit: In response to the owners question (I'm not sure how else to do this) The broth was below par. No substance or thickness. May as well have been a chicken stock cube boiled in water. The chashu was just thinly sliced pork (not even sure if it was the belly) and hadn't been marinated or cooked to a Japanese standard at all. There was no soft boiled egg or any bamboo shoots or bean spouts. The noodles tastes as if they were from a maggies 2 minute noodle packet. All the "ramen" you guys are selling is a glorified 2 minute noodle soup. Just a bunch of spring onions a little bit of pork in a hot chicken stock soup with 2 minute noodles...... and you charge $14. Plus your staff didn't even know what tsukemen was which shows a lot about there knowledge on Japanese ramen. Poor effort, please try harder

We had a terrible experience at this place. We came for the “free ramen day” on 03rd of August, stayed in line for 01 hour, downloaded the app and never received the email confirmation. When it was our time to order, the lady said there was nothing she could do because we didn’t receive the email. She said many people had the same problem because “there was a lot of people trying to sign in at the same time”. Still, it’s the customer fault we couldn’t sign in, and if we wanted to eat we “could still pay for the ramen”. We were so looking forward to try this place, but it turns out that what was supposed to be a nice marketing strategy to celebrate their 30rd anniversary, it actually made us feel very upset about this experience and not wanting to ever come back. It’s a shame, now I’m going home sad and hungry.

One of best AUTHENTIC Japanese Raman place in Central Surfers Paradise. This place is established around 20 years. Very friendly Japanese chef and staff. Free extra noodle. Plenty seats and very nice and tidy interior. Popular with locals. Done in or take away or Uber delivery. Walking distance to Tram stop at Cavill Ave G Link stop. Free 2 hours basement parking in Chevron which is only 5min walk to this store. Decent size serving and reasonable prices. We also tried other Hakataya places in Pacific Fair, Brisbane CBD, South Bank China Town, this store in Surfers is really really good. A must try noodle please when you are in Surfers. Highly recommended. Check out the photos.
