As a local guide, i alway try to write my review as neutral & positive possible to support local business. This was our first visit this restaurant. We have visited several different korean restaurant previously on different locations.
First impression wasn't bad as we walk in. Staff were friendly but they seemed lost ( didn't know what to do vibe). I guess some of them were training as owner mentioned. As we sat down, usually korean restaurant brings side dishes and menu for customers but here, we didn't get anything or any information about ordering. We sat there for 5-10 minutes figuring ourselves and finally we had a chance to ask staff a menu and how to order. Menu were not clear enoughor organised so took a while to figure the order.
Eventually we had food came out but just disappointment
Wrap veggie and salad - bit overpriced compare to other place for what we received. Not charcoal BBQ ( just iron pan).
We ordered pork belly and wagyu beef- meat were chewy and worst quality ( we could buy better quality meat from local butcher for half price) when i mentoned the quality of the meat, the owner simply replied we got bad cut - oh well lucky us. I understand when we go out we pay extra for service and other to support local business but it was simply not worth it. While we cooking, staff keep turning down the pan and took a picture of the setting ( saying for training staff purposes) - pan wasn't hot enough in the end, the meat was boiling on the pan not sizzling ,made meat more chewy.
Korean BBQ meant hot sizzling meat with variety of side dishes (this place had only kimchi and pasta salad, while others will have minimum 4😊 ) sharing with people. We had to walk away without eating most of meal. My husband may caused a scene as he wasn't happy at all. ( which i apologoes to the staff and owner behalf of him). He simply expected the best as he loves korean BBQ and left us a bad taste of going out to korean restaurant. I understand owner had to charge the bills for business but I believe there was a better way to communicate with customers not threatening them saying calling a police.. I guess we will try other korean restaurant next time or stick with a place we know & wish this business the best of luck. 😌. For response from owner. He offered to pay a drinks and some of food we ate just letting you know. I think a language barrier wasn't helping. He gave a card to staff to Pay and go out but no one could understand and they said no.. I understand your side as we operates small business too but in the end, it could be a better...
Read moreI recently dined at Yi Dynasty and had mixed feelings about the experience. The food itself was good, but navigating the menu as a vegan was frustrating.
Before entering, I noticed a display menu in the window with vegan logos next to some dishes, which gave me high hopes. However, inside, the paper menu had no vegan markings, and the digital menu’s symbols were unclear and mostly only applied to entrees. Furthermore, one dish was marked as both vegetarian and vegan but contained cheese, making the labeling unreliable.
When I asked staff about vegan options, it took three different waitresses to get a clear answer. The first simply directed me to the digital menu, which didn’t clarify much. The second took time to look through the menu but ultimately suggested a dish with cheese. Finally, a third waitress—who seemed to be the owner or a manager—was the only one who was able to help. She suggested the Korean pancake, which appeared to be vegan. That was the only option discussed, but at that point, I was just relieved to have a proper main dish.
The meal also came with side dishes, which staff assured me were vegan, but one contained mayonnaise, raising more doubts about their accuracy.
While I understand that Yi Dynasty is not a vegan-focused restaurant, if they’re going to advertise vegan options, they should ensure the menu is clear and staff are knowledgeable. I appreciate that they advertise vegan options, but the execution was inconsistent. If they improved labeling and staff knowledge, it would make a big difference for vegans dining here.
My response to Yi Dynasty’s response:
Thanks for your response and for taking my feedback seriously! I appreciate the effort to label vegan options, but I just wanted to clarify the confusion around the digital menu. I noticed that the digital menu flip-flops between using different symbols (first a green plant and a green VG, then switches to using the letters (V) or (VO) in descriptions) without a key explaining their meanings. Since all of these could mean vegetarian and not vegan, and ‘VO’ could mean vegetarian option, it’s unclear which dishes are fully vegan. Also when using the search with the word vegan there were zero results.
Additionally, I noticed that the Korean Corn Cheese is labeled with both the green plant symbol and the green VG symbol, but it contains cheese, which isn’t vegan. This makes things more confusing. A simple key or clarification on the menu would really help vegan diners order with confidence.
I appreciate the improvements you’re making and hope this...

No matter when I see the girl in the picture at their restaurant, I would feel sorry for myself.
Apparently, she doesn't like me though she barely knows about me,.
I would feel stressful to eat at their restaurant if the girl is working there. I try to be as polite as possible, try to deliver a warm smile, even greet her with Korean. Yet, I still fail to please her. She never tells me why she dislike me, just tries her best to make me feel inferior.
I have been eating in this restaurant regularly for years, some time with my friends. I actually like the boss of this restaurant very much; she is always very nice to me. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen her for a while.
I always tell myself; I can’t deny the whole team just because a member of it, I tell myself it is understandable for a little girl far from home fells unhappy time by time.I feel frustrated when I find she is just unhappy with me.
I guess everything has its limitation. Today I ordered spicy chicken with this girl, then I found 6-7 pieces chicken as big as the tip of my fourth finger among a large pile of onion slices, much less than orders taken by other girls. I know it is time to give up. If I am not welcome here, I would find somewhere else.
I am not sure if the girl did something when she took my order, but I am not complaining only for this time anyway. This is the hospitality industry, I need to enjoy my food, not just fill up my stomach by a grumpy girl.
(when I am writing this, I find someone had the similar experience with the girl, the guest shared his...
