The food and service at this place are simply amazing. We picked this place one night in a hurry and the kitchen was about to close. Luckily, the staff member that served us was VERY nice and accommodating. We ended up having an excellent meal despite having to order quickly. The food was just awesome - we ordered the steak, the kingfish, the fried chicken, and the duck salad. One bite of each dish was enough to make us fall in love with them. The dishes were so flavourful and the meat was fresh, tender, and juicy. The ingredients worked so well together and they were very well balanced. The portion size was also perfect; not too small, not too big. For this high quality of food, the price was also very reasonable. We were so happy with the meal that the price felt very justifiable. We told ourselves that we would definitely come back again and try the other dishes and we did! We came back just 2 days later for a late lunch. It was a different server this time but he was also very helpful and welcoming. We sat by the window and ordered the salmon, the ocean trout, the beef tataki, the brussel sprouts, the steak (again) plus two desserts - the brownie and the white chocolate tart. MY OH MY, I just can’t think of any better word to describe the flavours other than out of this world! So fresh, unique, and flavourful. Everything was just *chefs kiss*. Oh and the view is perfect as well - just by the wharf and in front of the water. 100% would recommend T42 to others and would come back again for a third time!

We were on the hunt for the perfect seafood platter to share and explored several spots along the pier. T42 stood out immediately for its focus on quality and freshness, unlike other places that seemed to prioritize quantity over taste with cheap fillers. Every bite of seafood was exceptional—fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We ordered a side of fries to go with the platter, which turned out to be more than enough for two. The prawns, in particular, were a highlight—plump, meaty, and absolutely delicious. We even noticed people walking by stopping to admire how amazing the platter looked on our table! On top of the incredible food, the service was impeccable. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, making our experience even more memorable. We also loved the thoughtful touch of naming the restaurant "T42," which cleverly references its latitude of 42° 55'. It’s clear that every detail at T42 is carefully considered, and we couldn’t recommend it more for seafood lovers looking for a standout dining experience.

The establishment and venue promote themselves as having 42 wines for tasting…further that they offer premium wine flights at premium pricing (by far the most expensive wine tasting for four glasses of wine we have ever done). It seems not only do they not understand any of the 42 wines on offering…they don’t seem to understand wines in general. Didn’t understand the difference between a new age and traditional Chardonnay…then completely disrespected an otherwise good wine by poor storage, pouring and presentation…sediment had actually crystallised within the bottle and made it undesirable and almost undrinkable. Upon polite provision of feedback and illustration they simply avoided us. Needless to say we were very disappointed and dissatisfied with the outcome wine tasting experience!

We had a set 4 course dinner (with a few choices) for the New Years Eve Function last night. It was quite expensive ($150 per person for food only) but was happy to pay for a great night experience on the water for NYE. The first “taster” course was 3 tiny portions consisting of one prawn, a teaspoon of salmon and teaspoon of little scallops. It had obviously been sitting under the hot lamp (food warmer) for far too long and was very disappointing to say the least. It looked “dry” and the prawn was powdery and disintegrated in your mouth. One of the second courses was a lobster bisque and consisted of a watery broth with no sign of any lobster - just a few corn kernels floating about. The main meal was the worst for me. While others had the salmon (which they said was lovely), two of us had the pork pancakes. This was definitely something I would expect at a Mexican franchise drive through service - not at a restaurant of this standard and especially not the price we paid for it. Very disappointing! The service was mostly very good but we were all fed and finished by 10 o’clock which defeated the purpose of the function! We were intending on staying until midnight and felt no reason to stay on once the food was over so early. I am just really disappointed because I was looking forward to this evening with my family and expected that the food and event would be amazing!! To be honest, the best part of the evening was when we walked OUTSIDE to see the 9.30pm fireworks. I’m so...

Everytime I've attended this venue I've struggled to find a good word to say about it, but always happy to give something another go, 6months in the food industry is like forever when it comes to change... Unfortunately change is something t42 has never done for the better... The prawns, a $10 Chinese takeaway has the sense and respect to offer a finger bowl when serving whole prawns as an entree, not here though, asking for atleast serviettes seem to be hindering to the staff. The flat iron steak was one of the most overcharged, over rated, and over cooked pieces of meat ever eaten in the wharf vicinity, with no option on how its cooked the menus statement of "served pink" was far from the truth, when ordered staff mentioned it would be medium rare, "perfect" I said "that's exactly how we like them". Medium well is being generous with all of them, mine didn't actually have a single piece of pink meat anywhere in the dismal serving. Just like the serviettes, cutlery seemed a huge inconvenience to the staff and I had eaten my entire meal before it arrived which wasnt hard they were ridiculously small servings for the price, im not sure what we were expected to share... Sometimes great staff can make up for an average meal but the staff weren't even ok let alone great, the girls sour faced and seemingly not wanting to be there at all, the male who seemed to be running them was no better coming with an arrogance that deserved nothing less than a dip off the side of...
