Clearly there was something wrong in the kitchen last night (11/11/23). We were on the 8:30pm sitting and ordered the “feed Me”, we had bread fairly quickly but then we waited for 40 minutes and no more food.

I enquirer as to where the food was and fairly quickly two dishes came. These were not what had been discussed on the menu so I asked what was on the menu and it became apparent that dishes they thought we had had hadn’t come. More food came, none of it seemingly in a menu, just food that they had.

I have just read a review also from last night on what should have been on the feed me menu, we had only one of the same dishes.

Clearly they had run out of food.

I was watching many tables (we had a LOT of waiting time), there was limited food on all the tables, everyone was asking where the food was and everyone on the same menu was getting different dishes.

I now can see that we had leftover octopus to what should have been delivered, we had a tiny amount of cut up octopus, compared to the generous dish photographed above (we were in the restaurant at the same time).

I didn’t note any hints of Catalan or Spanish style food at all. I thought we were in an average French / modern Australian restaurant.

The food itself was average.

After asking about the lateness of the meals the waitstaff avoided us until I directly asked for another drink.

Eventually, right at the end. Someone came and comped us two drinks for the delay and told us our meals had been sent to wrong table. I observed other tables also being given discounts as they had run out of desert. We were given overly sweet char-grilled pineapple- shame it wasn’t the chocolate cake, as that did look good.

I would avoid...

had a sexy meal here. we started off with some cocktails and they were so good!! i really liked the chamomile whiskey sour.

i recommend sharing a bunch of tapas! we got the lamb, jamon and mushrooms but there were so many others we wanted to try. if it’s just the two of you, you could probably pass on the paella because the portion is quite big. get more tapas to share instead. my favourite one of the night was the grilled lamb belly. the lamb was cooked to perfection and it had a crisp edge giving it extra texture. the sauce on top was divine and kept me going back for more. i loved that the mushrooms had a nice smoky flavour to it, it paired really well with the pine nut cream, and the raisins gave it a tinge of sweetness.

from the desserts, i really enjoyed the chocolate tart with earl grey ice cream. the tart had a thin crunchy layer that i loved and the tart shell + chocolate filling were really good too. the crema catalana was unfortunately way too sweet. felt like i was literally...

Most Disappointing.Very Small Serves. We went to the Black Footed Pig after seeing a Facebook ad for a $49pp 2 Course Friday Lunch Special. There were only 2 other tables occupied.(2 ppl and 3 ppl) and 3 wait staff. The serving sizes were very small. We were given some bread before the entree. We both chose the Croquettes for entree. There were 2 on the plate, the size of my thumb. The texture inside was smooth and looked like it had been puréed. To me it wasn’t a pleasant taste at all. For main my partner chose the chorizo dish, and I had the fish. Again, very small portions. If I was served them as an entree, I would call them small entrees. As a main meal it was a joke. (I wish I had taken a photo) A bowl of lettuce was served with it. That was the total amount of food. Not good value for $49 each. We were both still hungry, so ordered dessert. These were both delicious, but again, small portions for $19 each. The wait staff were friendly, but not very attentive. Seeing as there were 3 wait staff and only 3 tables, I didn’t expect to sit for that long with an empty wine glass before I was able to attract the waitress’ attention. All in all it was a very disappointing lunch. If our experience had been better, we would have returned to taste their regular menu. However, we won’t be returning.(As an aside, we go out for lunch or dinner at least twice a week, so we are familiar with many...

First dinner landed on Tassie. We arrived earlier than our booking, floor staff kindly welcomed us and offer us seats. We ordered ‘feed me’ options (like a omakase course) plus one wine pairing separated and one pineapple cocktail. The starters are raw fish, cured meat and bread. The raw fish are served with hummus, preserved fish (maybe anchovy?) - it’s fresh and savoury, which really lightened our tastes bud. White wine with nice acidity pairs well with the starters. Second course is chicken skewers and fried puff with cheese filling. The chicken thigh is cooked just right and very juicy. The main is lamb with green salad and baked potato. The lamb is tender and the sauce is nice. One slice comes with some raw fat, which is a bit chewy and lamby (but it is lamb) so not complaining. Another highlight of the night is the yummy basque, topped with honey or some syrup and the candied(?) cherry. The desert wine served with the silky slice finishes the night smoothly. Overall, we enjoyed the starter and desert more than the meats and main. The team on the floor is friendly and being professional to explain and introduce each course with their ingredients.

Was looking for a place to celebrate my partner's birthday and decided on this place. It was not what I expected as it was a lot more casual than I thought It'd be, but it was quite pricy. We started off with the artisan selection, ordering the wild boar, wagyu bresaola, and instead of the forest mushroom salami, it was opted out for the black squid ink salami. Overall, everything was great, although the wild boar was a bit pungent. Me and my partner loved the mussels and the oysters. I personally would recommend these two dishes. The Tasmanian octopus was quite yummy, but there was no chewiness to it. We also ordered the pork, which came in a massive plate with two small slices on the side. It was a bit weird with the plating, but the taste was quite delightful. I would say it was a lovely experience with a nice view and some decent food.
