All you can Eat? you might come to the wrong placeโฆ
We drove 40 minutes to Ipswich just to try this all-you-can-eat sushi, but it was a complete letdown.
We placed our sashimi order at 5:15 PM as soon as we sat down. By 6:00 PM, still no sashimi had arrived. After checking with staff, one of them claimed the kitchen was โbusy,โ but the real issue was obvious โ they were severely understaffed. Only three people in the kitchen, and just one guy preparing sushi for almost ten tables of customers.
What made it even more ridiculous was that one of the staff members came to us and said we ordered too much and asked if we could finish all the sashimi โ while NONE of it had even been served yet! We actually didnโt order much at all, just two plates of salmon and tuna sashimi, which we ended up finishing completely. The fact they questioned our order before serving anything was sadly hilarious.
Eventually, after the complain, our sashimi finally came at 6:10 โ nearly an hour after ordering. And keep in mind, the AYCE has a 90-minute time limit! We basically spent two-thirds of our session waiting in hunger, nibbling on a few sushi nigiri while holding out for the sashimi.
This isnโt all you can eat. Itโs โAll You Can WAITโ.
Weโve tried several AYCE sushi places around Brisbane, and this was by far the most disappointing. The food quality is very average, the service was poor, and the wait time was just ridiculous.
$50 per person for this? Hell no. Never...

I recommend ordering from the menu as the train looked tired & empty.. Edamame & takoyaki took over 15 minutes to arrive & the takoyaki was covered in bento shavings to hide the fact that it was very dark & overcooked. The place was not busy so I'm unsure why the food took so long. The rest of the food was nice & fresh. Seating booths are pleasant but the glass dividers are covered in dirty handprints everywhere. Service was efficient.
Arrived on Saturday evening as per the listed opening times an hour before closing and they were closed. 2nd time this has happened. Please update & change your times and specify on your door as this causes confusion & disappointment to locals that want to support your new business.
ACCESS โ ๏ธ๐จ๐ผโ๐ฆฝfrom the mall there is good access into the venue but no seating or room to sit with family or friends in the booths. There are tables in the centre but away from any ordering tablet. You will need assistance to get food off the conveyor belt which may be tricky for people using mobility equipment to reach NEURODIVERSE โ โ ๏ธ๐You'll like the booths as they are private but lots noise &...
ย ย ย Read moreI used to be a frequent customer of Ipswich's Sushi Hyo. Today was my last day. I was having lunch, when I heard the general manager yelling at a staff member. They were having a professional talk, seated at table 6. It just caught my attention when he started to yell at her. She was clearly nervous and he was upset, yelling loudly. After 10 minutes trying to talk to him, she started to cry discreetly. I could feel her embarrassment and her humiliation. Then he yelled at her: "Don't cry! Stop crying"
I interactedcwith her a few times before and she has always been very sweet and kind, always smiling. That is why I decided to post this review.
The manager shouldn't act like that, in front of all the customers. He could never speak to her like that at all!! It was also misogynist because I doubt he'd do that with a male employee.
I'll never visit this place again and I hope this lovely lady finds a better job...
