Before we even tasted the food, we were greeted into Indian Food Junkiz by a little “bell boy” ringing the waiter bell as soon as we came - and the owner (dad, I suppose) came to set a table for us, even turning on the heater to make sure we were warm. From the great table service recommending us to try a delicious Indian street food - Chat Papdi (2nd picture)- to their kind attention to detail to substitute the cashew butter in our Butter Chicken due to our nut allergy, we felt like we were in the right hands of a genuine-hearted, authentic family-owned restaurant. Not to also mention, the meat is provided by halal butchers and they open til 11pm late at night! One of the best places in Launceston, hands down a must-try for those who are new, curious to try, or lovers of Indian food🙌 🇮🇳

A heap of 5 Star reviews, and rightfully so! I went in twice, once as a guest with family friends, and again, solo. On both occasions, the Vegetarian Biryani was spot on, served piping hot with fresh and flavourful ingredients. I'm guessing the paneer they put in is either made in-house or sourced extremely fresh from a local supplier or grocer as it was soft and tender, melting in the mouth. Also tried the tandoori roti, dhal makhani, and paneer lababdar. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will surely patronise Indian Food Junkiz.

I'm always hesitant when places have such high reviews, but this place actually delivered 5 star food experience. It was absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous and reasonably priced. I liked that you could customize almost any main to be vegan, vegetarian, meat or seafood. The only drawback was that I had to wait for someone to take my order for a long time, although the place was virtually empty at the time. Nonetheless, great experience overall. Definitely recommend. Either dine in or take away.

We were travelling through Tasmania and when in Launceston, we stumbled upon this Indian food joint. The food was so good that when on our way back travelling from Hobart to Devonport we decided to take detour to Launceston for lunch break. We were happy that we decided to stop at Indian Food Junkiz. The place seems to have a good reputation as it was busy both times we were there. The owner Yogesh and his family were amazing host. Highly recommend to anyone looking for great tasting Indian food. Sanjeev

Came here twice with fantastic service and food. We ordered Malai Kofta and Veg Korma the first visit, and Veg Korma & Palak Paneer the second (all mild with rice and naan, photo is of second visit). The food tasted amazing, full of flavour and texture, with zero let-downs. Staff are full of life, creating an energising experience. Open late is a massive bonus considering most restaurants in Launceston close at 8-8.30pm. Definitely recommendable.
