Launceston’s Best-Kept Secret: Korean Fried Magic 🍗✨

As far as charcoal chicken and chips goes, this is as good as it gets. Heaps of sides to choose from, and I love that the staff ask if you want gravy on top or on the side. I do not love that all the meals come in polystyrene packets and the only cutlery is plastic. No need for that - there are plenty of eco-friendly options available for restaurants and take away. Sunday arvo (2.30pm, 3 April) staff were friendly and efficient, but didn’t wipe the tables between diners while I was there. There was a fair bit of food on the floor under the chairs, too. Plenty of time to chat behind the counter though!

Respectable. Moderately well priced. An option for a choice of the part of chicken received would be a good addition. As mine was more bone and yuck that I couldn't eat than chicken I could eat. However good veggies, lovely gravy and delicious pumpkin and patatoes. The part of the chicken I was able to eat was nicely cooked. Soft but succulent too.

If only there was an option for no stars Comparison between Charcoal chicken Launceston to Charcoal chicken Prospect ... there is no Comparison ... when anyone goes to Launceston I always ask for either Charcoal chicken or KFC ... so yesterday I was unfortunately given my salad/chicken pack from the Launceston one ... immediately on opening it I could see it wasn't from Prospect ... there was a container that looked absolutely disgusting ... the salads were a grey horrible sludgy mess ... how does someone get curried egg to look grey ... they did ... the other 3 salads I can't even explain other than there were 3 pasta salads that were again a grey mess ... the chicken was so dry you couldn't even pull it apart ... Russell always shares my chicken but apart from the rubbery skin he missed out and believe me the look I got when I stood up to put in the bin was not a happy one 🤬 ... and to add to the kick in the guts it was much more expensive than Prospect ... the moral of the story is that if you are craving Charcoal chicken never get it from the city ... go hungry cause you...

This place used to be the BOMB and like the best place to get a feed that actually filled you up and tasted amazing.. now honestly we havnt had it for awhile and yes the price of things have gone up but we were a lil gob smacked at the new prices however we knew that this place was good so thought why not as it was a treat for our family..... well wasn't we so wrong!!! We won't be back in any hurry. The staff were rude. The girls at the front couldn't remember what u had ordered by the time u went to pay like 1 minute after. Our food was awful the gravy doesn't taste the same.. my chicken was extremely tough in my burger I had a few chips and couldn't eat the rest as there was just to much salt and I usually LOVE salt... my children were even sad as they said this isn't charcoal chicken ma.... yuk we will trial prospect and if no success I'd rather cook it my way at home. So sad to see this buisness go downhill after all there...

Disappointing Experience – Lacked Flavour and Coordination

Ordered a full roast chicken online and requested it to be cut into 1/8 pieces. Upon arrival around 6:30 PM, I was surprised to find the staff unsure about my order. When I mentioned the full chicken, they looked at each other puzzled, with one even murmuring, “Do we have any left?” Eventually, they managed to gather around 15 tiny pieces – none of which resembled a proper charcoal roast.

The chicken itself was bland, lacking any hint of charcoal or seasoning – it honestly tasted like plain boiled chicken. To make it worse, there were no dips or sauces included.

If you’re a Sydneysider expecting rich flavours similar to El Jannah or traditional charcoal chicken joints, this is not the place for you. Won’t be...
