As restaurants go, a good way to judge quality is the table water they serve. This restaurant gives tap water, with its unmistakeable bitterish aftertaste. Not to say the place is bad necessarily. It serves as a nice little rest stop in Tasmania, where Asian restaurants are few and far between when you’re driving between cities. Service did not check on us initially, we had to call a waitress over for menus and was then given the aforementioned tap water. On to the food. It came out surprisingly quickly, which was nice. Among the three dishes we ordered, the spicy chicken soup was good, the bulgogi was in my opinion a little less flavourful than other places I have been, but quite alright. Now, the pork black bean sauce noodles (jjajangmyeon). One who has tasted the actual dish, then sampled the one made here could not call this dish “jjajangmyeon”. Upon first glance, there is nothing wrong, the dish looks like it is supposed to. However. It tastes like kimchi. The only taste that comes from these noodles and the sauce is the faint but unmistakeable taste of kimchi, instead of the rich flavour of black beans that it is supposed taste like. Nothing else. In fact, they should straight up call it “kimchi noodles”. As far as Korean restaurants go, this one is fine but due to lack of competition from other places with similar dishes I think it is a bit “overrated” in my opinion. I dislike giving reviews that lean towards negative, but this is my...

Read more“If you're seeking authentic Korean cuisine, this might not be the ideal choice.” If you are Korean you will be flabbergasted when you get the food. While the food tasted good and the atmosphere was pleasant, I ordered the Korean bossam. However, it was unexpectedly flavored with soy sauce, deviating from the traditional Taiwanese soy sauce braised pork belly with Korean dried radish kimchi that defines Korean bossam. This naming discrepancy left me disappointed, as I had anticipated an authentic experience based on the reviews. In reality, it turned out to be more of an Asian fusion dish. I was left perplexed by the departure from expectations. Additionally, I must note that the portion sizes were relatively small, especially in the case of the...
