First time having a coffee and trying a churro from here. Staff and service was excellent and as expected with friendly staff and great food preparation. Churro was nice and I got one filled with chocolate. It wasn’t greasy and was fried well. The cappuccino was mild with lots of foam and chocolate flakes on top, plus a small milk chocolate on the side. For food and service everything was top and I would come back to try more.
When it comes to atmosphere (keeping in mind that it is a franchise and I don’t know what needs to be kept as is) the music was a little bit loud. This I understand, comes from the vibe of a Latin culture base which is a loud culture, but in the morning maybe the music could be kept a bit lower with the music picking up later in the day.
In general I like the idea of the shop and on a weekday on the busy street I feel it should work. There is quite a bit of competition around and trends shift constantly in Launceston, being a small town. So keeping an eye out and seeing what other places are doing could help build the customer base. I had lived here for only a year and always saw the shop but never knew what they offered until I walked in, if it was a simple cafe or restaurant.
Launceston is big on daily coffees and breakfast churros/waffles with fresh fruit and whipped cream could be promoted as an idea or even a classic bacon and poached eggs. Again I’ll have to come back and see everything they have to offer as im just running through ideas. But good first...
Read moreTerrible experience. They took forever to serve us which should have been a sign of things to come. Went to our table and the only thing correct was my coffee. They forgot our ice cream and messed up the other drink which my sister brought back and asked for them to change. Also when they brought my sister’s drink it was dripping all down the sides and there was no plate or serviette or apology. We had to go up and ask about the ice cream which they eventually brought out. It had been almost an hour since we originally ordered so my sister went back up and asked if they were remaking her drink, they had forgotten. When they did remake it, it was wrong again. I then went up and explained this was not okay and I wanted a refund. They didn’t know how to do a refund so I asked if they were all new staff because I’d understand if that was the case…they said no 😅 They eventually figured out how to do the refund but never apologised for the wait...
Read moreI don’t even have words for how awful my experience was tonight, told they don’t have croffles while they’re making them in front of me on the press, watched them screw around with the churro press for 20 minutes, got served wood churros they were so burnt, no table number or receipt, waited for 40 minutes all up from the time the order was placed, couldn’t get a refund because the guy didn’t know how to use the machine, so he asked me to write down my credit card number or bank account number so they could send me money later, then asked me what I paid for my order(receipt?), then the guy made a Skype call with who I assume was the store owner in front of me to figure out how to do refunds, ended up giving me cash.
All while a lineup of other customers formed behind me also waiting for refunds. Why did they even open today?
