Calcutta Sweets & Indian Food House — Restaurant in Melbourne

Extremely disappointed from the behaviour of the staffs. We were asked to book a table before dine in as there were restriction on capacity inside the restaurant. We booked the table for 4 adults and 3 kids at 8.PM and reached there on time.But we were asked to wait for half n hour as they could accommodate only 13 people inside the restaurant at once.We waited for 35 minutes and went inside to hear that we won't get a table. When we asked that we could see people who came after us having dinner they replied those were the customers booked before you.So does that mean that there is no value for our time.If people can't come on time let them wait and allow others who reached on time to enjoy the dinner.Inspite of having kids and a pregnant woman in our group and informing the same to them,they denied a table for us around 8.50PM And one of the lady staff at the counter told us to leave as they can't promise table for us even if we wait further. if they can't manage people and order on time why the hell are they taking dine in bookings.Pathetic customer service,and not recommending this place to anyone.No...

We visited on 19/09 for dinner and ordered soya chaap curry, butter chicken, and aloo tikki. On the menu, the aloo tikki didn’t mention whether it came with chana or yoghurt, and the waitress didn’t ask our preference. We assumed it would be with yoghurt, so it was a bit confusing when it came differently.

When it was taken back, the waitress told us quite firmly that next time we should confirm our order with her, which felt a little uncomfortable. The way our order was originally taken also came across as a bit rushed and unfriendly.

The food itself was fine, but I think the service could be improved by being a little more polite and by clarifying menu options with customers. That would make the experience...

Very disappointed today. This is third time happened with us. First time food was full with salt so you can’t tast anything except salt. Second time found cockroach in water jag , still I didn’t said anything. Toady they served uncooked chicken tikka to my 7year son. Chicken was still pink so we called the staff and she came back & said that chef said it’s cooked.you can order something else then asked for paneer tikka which they said not available. Then chef came out & my hubby explained that chicken still uncooked & chef said to us that that’s the way they cook here.he tried to convince us that that half cooked chicken is ok.very very disappointed behaviour.
