went in for dinner at criniti’s in southbank for a special occasion. the booking was at 7:30 and we walked in the restaurant at exactly that time and waited 30 minutes to be seated despite us booking a week in advanced, and other tables who booked at a later time were sat immediately. we sat at our table at 8:00. the lady took 10 mins to come to us to take the order and the order was taken at 8:10 for both food and drinks. the drinks were a cocktail, jug of soft drink and some orange juice and it arrived at 8:20, and the food arrived at 8:35 which isn’t a bad waiting time however the food was taken to the wrong table and to make it a little worse, the table of 2 on our right sat down after us, and was served almost immediately and there food and drinks were delivered to them within a total of 25 mins, and they left before our food had even arrived. the service needs to be improved immensely, and there needs to be more communication between the host and the wait staff, they were lovely when the order was taken but in terms of work adequate, needs a significant amount of improving. i also noticed that a fair few other tables food kept getting served to the wrong table, but on the bright side of things the food smashed it out of the park, it was all amazing, we ordered: fettuccine prawn alfredo $35 garlic prawns, cream, parmesan, shallots & parsley 4 seasons pizza $28 napoli sauce, mozzarella, artichokes, ham, sopressa salami, mushrooms & basil tagliata di manzo $49 sliced msa scotch fillet served with rocket, cherry tomatoes, parmesan, gremolta, balsamic glaze & fresh lemon sticky date pudding $17 hot sticky date pudding glazed with hot butterscotch sauce served with vanilla gelato & criniti’s mascarpone cream the pasta was amazing and all the flavours that were in there just worked really well together. the tagliata di manzo which is basically just steak on some rocket was really nice, only down-fall was i ordered medium-rare but was brought out medium-well, didn’t bother me too much however still enjoyable and to top it, was even given a discount for the miscommunication. the highlight of the steak was the sauce, the al capone sauce which had prawns and octopus in it was sensational. the pizza was also quite nice and the way the dough was so soft but also really crispy was a gold star for me. also love a good sticky date and this was done quite well, however just wish there was a bit more butterscotch sauce. overall i would recommend this place for the food but the service definitely needs improving, is also a bit on the pricy side of things ($180 for 2 people) but i guess that’s what you get for basically dinning in the heart of melbourne. will soon be back to try more of the items on the menu.

I have a lot of memories and good experiences that I take with me from this place ❤️ Describing Crinitis in one word is too hard to do, some words that come up to mind are "homy", "welcomed", "team work", "good times", "cravings successfully full-finished", and a lot more. We went today for our anniversary, There menu has so much variety! But this time we went for burgers since there was a special for today 😜 we went for a schnitzy burger adding bacon (which was amazing) and a peri burger (also delicious and an amazing option if you don't want a beefy burger) For entree we went for the chilli wings (i love that it was so soft and the buffalo sauce just blends so good and so tasty with the mayo) It was not a busy evening since we came at 4pm and also HAPPY HOUR ❤️ Classic Cocktails were 10$ and totally so worth it! The long islands are great blended and the strawberry and watermelon mojito were the new drinks we never tried before and didn't dissapoint at all!! Also we got 2 free beers from the special that we saw on Instagram from our tickets to the Australian Open, it was the Thirsty Wolf and didn't disappoint 😌We wanna say a huge thanks to the servers Katie, Agneya, and Pawnesh that were so attentive with us and made sure that we felt comfortable and that everything was all right during the evening, even if they had things to do they made sure we had a good time ❤️ also the runners for figuring out where to serve our food and drinks with our little table 😂 The ambience is great! Really creative space with the sofas, the motorbikes, the pictures with history on the walls and you can see the pizza chefs doing their magic! and the fact you can see outside and interact with the view is also fun. I honestly appreciate this place so so much, from the space to the servers and their team work and the food and feeling super comfortable, I always leave with a smile ( and a full belly 🤭)

The worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. It’s hard to know where to start. We had a table for 8 booked on New Year’s Day. I had recommended Crinitis to my family and friends due to a nice dinner we had there about 4 years ago. There were 7 of us and as we were seated I noticed the tables were dirty and I asked for them to be wiped down. It wasn’t done. I asked again about 10 minutes later as did one of my friends. We had to ask 3 times before someone came to wipe down the tables we were seated at. The table had not been set up for us. There was no cutlery and I asked twice for water to be brought out. Two of my friends ordered starters and these were brought out and placed in front of my friends but we still did not have cutlery. We asked again (3rd time) for cutlery and it was brought out on a plate with all the forks & knives and napkins on the plate and it was left at the head of the table. I had to literally hand out the cutlery to each guest at our table. About 5 minutes later they brought out the mains. The starters hadn’t even been finished and they propped down each main meal in front of each guest. My mum was still eating her starter when one of the waiters pushed a plate past her face to give it to my partner. My partner was not impressed and asked him to not be lazy and come around the table rather than pushing past the face of a 76 year old woman. 4 guests enjoyed their meals. The other 3 thought the food was mediocre. The pasta left a lot to be desired and my seafood skewers (at $50 no less) were dry and under seasoned. After we finished eating we waited 45 minutes for the plates to be removed from in front of us. I actually stopped one of the waitresses and asked for our plates to be cleared and she took two plates and never came back. We actually had to ask again for our table to be clearer. At no stage were we offered more water even though the empty water bottle was prominent at the top of the table. We all ordered desserts and again they came out and we had no cutlery. The food was just left in front of us and we had to ask for cutlery twice. When it did come out the two people that were doing it were clueless and doubling up what the other person had done. They put down forks & knives and then remembered it was dessert so they went and got spoons. My friend’s sticky date pudding was so dry inside that it was inedible and had to be sent back. My partner went upstairs to the toilets where he saw two staff members asleep on chairs for everyone to see as they walked to the loos. After dessert I went up to talk to the manager and explain the service we had and he really was not interested. His basic line was that it was a public holiday and that they were busy. Well I’m sorry that does not excused bad service. We paid out good money for our lunch (our total bill was more that $400) and we copped extremely bad service and mediocre food. The manager said he could give us a 7% discount (which was the Familigia club member) which I advised I had joined up that morning so it wasn’t really a discount and then 15% was added for public holiday surcharge. This restaurant was supposed to be an “authentic Italian experience” however the only authentic Italian thing there was the Ducati motorcycle parts on the walls. I would give 0 stars if I could. It doesn’t even deserve one star.

Seriously overpriced poor quality food. I should have tried a Pizza, my wife had a Rissotto mama something, the chicken chunks were nice. The Rissotto was glugy and made with way too much cheese. No Italian would call this a Rissotto. Now I didn't feel like a pizza and I wasn't keen on pasta so I made the worst mistake and ordered a burger. Disgusting, 3 hard patties glued together with horrible cheese. I couldn't taste anything else, it was supposed to have all sorts of stuff. Stay away from this franchise.. Update. We went back and gave them second chance. Not good. The "EveryBloodyTing" pizza was made in a rush . The sopressa salami was dumped on top in three piles that I had to separate myself. But the real issue was the taste , salty and to much vinegar cured pickles. Why! NOT ENOUGH CHEESE, OR tomato sauce. To add insult the crust was 20% of the pizza. 30 bucks. ForgetAboutIt. We decided to try the gnocci Monica. The gnocci was cooked perfectly the sauce was so salty my wife couldn't eat it. We sent it back. Now as we assumed their Napoli sauce was pre cooked we changed the dish to linguine carbonara. Omg it was supposed to come with crispy bacon, it come with raw fatty chucks of salty ham. Disgusting. My wife are it, as she was hungry but sorry critini's , you failed again. In regards to the server, pretty poor this time, waiters are quick when you arrive then forget you exist afterwards, they didn't mention it was happy hour, nor did they bother asking if the food was OK. I had to go get a waiter to return the gnocci. So disappointing.

We went for cocktails and dessert. The place is absolutely gorgeous but a few things made the experience a bit weird. There were two tiers of waitstaff; one type could take orders but the other couldn't. We had to try pretty hard to get attention from them. The pizza and pasta we saw on other tables looked great. We ordered the lava sundae ($30) to share. It was huge, three of us shared it and had some left over. But we wouldn't have had any left over if it had been nicer. The ice cream felt a bit cheap in taste and texture, and the baked goods were lacking a certain something. They only had one type of glass. It was bizarre to be given a cocktail jug (which was delicious) and have to pour it into the same type of glass as is sitting on my bedside table at home. A man on the table next to us had to use the same type for his beer. They were small latte glasses. The bathrooms matched the rest of the place - beautiful but with some key mistakes that brought the rating down. The toilets were not clean, they all had at least some water on the seats. The paper towels were out and the bin was full of them. The bin was also under the very strong hand dryer so there was litter everywhere. The back of the toilet door had a sign offering a free dessert in exchange for proof of a 5-star review; I found this unethical. 2 stars seems harsh but at a place that charges $30 for a Carbonara my expectations are a bit higher. The level of service and quality of food didn't meet the price point for me, and the mild bribery was a sour note.

We went to Crinitti’s for a birthday celebration and I don’t know if it’s a Covid cost cutting measure or not but it feels as though portion size has reduced. Service is the same as always (poor), I long ago accepted that this place is so wildly popular there is no incentive for staff to be remotely attentive or pleasant. Having said that I enjoy the food and the location and as such we keep returning. The complimentary birthday cannoli cake was pretty spectacular also Original review I love Criniti's in Sydney but there seems to be some sort of disconnect in Victoria. Having recently opened a second Melbourne branch I found myself engaging in my favourite pesto gnocchi. I was pretty happy with my meal but two others had ordered the risotto which arrived looking woeful and apparently tasted just as bad. Credit to them when the table was cleared and the unappetising mess remained half finished the manager removed them from the bill (and believe me the place isn't cheap so the final bill was still pretty hefty). My friends were clearly still looking fairly unimpressed so he also tried to offer us something else complimentary such as a round of drinks. I said we would like a Nutella donut (there's a pretty enticing display of them near the register) and four (one each) promptly arrived, no charge. Full points for addressing the issue with strong customer service.
