A Memorable Dinner at Suzie Q Dining at Suzie Q was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a beautifully designed space—spacious, open, and incredibly comfortable. The restaurant’s layout made it easy to relax, as the tables were well-spaced, creating an airy and inviting atmosphere. There was no sense of being crowded, and we could truly enjoy our meal without any distractions. One of the standout features of Suzie Q was its open kitchen concept. Watching the chefs at work added an extra layer of excitement to the evening. The rhythmic sounds of chopping, sizzling, and plating were almost therapeutic. It was fascinating to see the chefs in action, carefully preparing each dish with precision and passion. This interactive experience made the dining experience even more immersive and enjoyable. We started our meal with six small plates, shared among three people. Every dish was an absolute delight—perfectly balanced in flavor and portion size. Each bite was packed with unique textures and aromas, showcasing the chef’s mastery of ingredients and presentation. The variety kept us excited with every new dish that arrived at the table. The portions were just right, leaving us feeling satisfied but not overly full. For the price, it was a fantastic deal, offering both quality and quantity in the best way possible. Then came the main courses, which took the experience to a whole new level. If the small plates were impressive, the mains were simply extraordinary. The fusion of flavors was executed with such expertise that each bite felt like a journey through different cultures and culinary traditions. The balance of seasoning, aroma, and texture was flawless. Every dish was carefully crafted, highlighting the freshness of the ingredients and the chef’s innovative approach. The portion sizes were generous yet refined, making them enjoyable without feeling overwhelming. Beyond the main dishes, every other item we tried was equally outstanding. It’s hard to describe them all because each plate had its own special charm. The flavors were complex yet harmonious, leaving a lasting impression. I could go on about how much I loved each dish, but honestly, the best way to understand it is to experience it for yourself. The service was another highlight of the evening. The staff was attentive, professional, and incredibly welcoming. However, the true star of the service was the tall, elegant Asian female manager with long hair. She was exceptionally warm and engaging, frequently checking in on our table with a bright smile. Her friendly demeanor and genuine enthusiasm for the restaurant made the experience even more memorable. It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and personal, but she and the team at Suzie Q nailed it. Final Verdict? If you’re looking for a place that delivers incredible food, a fantastic atmosphere, and top-tier service, Suzie Q is the place to be. Everything about this restaurant exceeded my expectations. Whether you’re a foodie or just someone looking for a great night out, this is a spot you don’t want to miss.

tried out suzie q after recommendations! feed me menu w/ 5 people = 5 small dishes, 5 large dishes, 3 sides - $49 pp 5 small dishes hirama kingfish - fresh sashimi that was doused in lovely flavoured soy sauce - not a lot portion wise but everyone got to have at least one piece - 8/10 salt and pepper calamari - really good calamari especially that thin crispy coating + flavoured really well, enough salt and pepper seasoning - loved the mayo and i found myself wanting more and more - 9/10 black bean beef tartare - enjoyed the freshly fried prawn crackers and it gave a nice umami taste - the beef tartare itself had some sweet elements which were interesting, but tasty - 9.5/10 salt and pepper spicy tofu - tofu could have been fried longer because it was kind of hard to grab pieces using chopsticks as the tofu would kinda of just fall apart BUT really good seasoning though - 8/10 juicy xiao long bao - standard xiao long bao, nothing too special but still nice! (only comes with 3 pieces tho) - 8/10 5 large dishes suzie’s duck fried rice - really enjoyed this fried rice, lots of duck meat pieces and the rice had that wok hei - 9/10 sweet sour (pork) - really crispy pork which is good however felt like the batter and pork ratio was not balanced - the sauce was way too sweet, no sour elements at all - the use of grapes was very… weird, i think pineapple definitely works better! stick to the classics :) - 6.5/10 mr’s q roast duck - you can tell it definitely has been soaking in some seasoning for a long time (hence the aged label) - nothing too special but it was nice - 7.5/10 black pepper beef - nice tasting dish however there weren’t any big wow elements! nothing too special again - 7.5/10 wagyu beef hor fun - the noodles had a weird after taste, it was lowkey sour for some people? - the beef was fine though, cooked well - 7/10 3 sides chinese donut + apple cucumber salad + ginger garlic gai lan overall, i really loved the small dishes they were really good! the ambience of the restaurant was really nice and i enjoyed the modern/ historic elements brightened up by red lights

ORDERED: 🍽 Feed Me Menu ($45.00pp) • Salt & Pepper Calamari: calamari, chilli, tofu mayonnaise • Black Bean Beef Tartare: beef, black bean, blistered peppers, green chilli, prawn crackers • XO Mussels: Suzie's XO sauce, mussels, chinese doughnuts, spring onion + 🦆 Mrs Q's duck (upgrade $9.00pp): Duck, 5 spice master stock, mustard greens • Stir fried hongkong vegetables 🍨 Mango Sago Pudding ($16.00) 🍹 Mocktail ($14.50pp) + card surcharge I paid $74.16 for my portion here! REVIEW: A new avenue from MAMAs Dining Group (e.g., Hochi Mama, Windsor Dining Room, Kiss and Tell, Straight Outta Saigon) it didn't live up to my love for Kiss and Tell. 😥 🏮 What stood out for me was its gorgeous interior. There's some red neon lights against dark wooden tones that feel very Hong Kong nightlife, the nostalgic dining room chairs that are incredibly plush, and the shape of the windows that seem oriental in nature. It's beautiful outfitted. 🤗 Service is friendly and seemed genuine in getting our feedback after our dining experience. I'll share some thoughts (some that we provided to the server) below: ❤ Vegetables were our favourite part. Cooked perfectly where it still had that snappy texture. I'm talking about the Hong Kong vegetables and the mustard greens in the Mrs Q's duck. 🧡 I also liked the asian take on Beef Tartare! The blistered peppers worked so well to bring in colour and a character to the classically meat heavy dish. 🤔 Apart from that, it felt like the food had a fair way to go. • XO Mussels were incredibly salty. • Salt & Pepper Calamari came with TOFU MAYONNAISE, and not TOFU, MAYONNAISE, as printed on the menu. • The same calamari dish came with fennel, which was too overpowering and harsh for the subtle flavour and nature of the calamari. • Mrs Q's duck meat for us was too chewy and didn't seem to impart any/much flavour. It's hard for me to justify the $9.00pp additional price point for 7 pieces. Overall, it's a beautiful joint. But for me, the food doesn't yet live up to its amazing aesthetic.

Our experience at Suzie Q started on a promising note. We were warmly welcomed by a bartender who thoughtfully took note of our pescatarian dietary requirements, even marking the menu to highlight what we could order. It was a small but considerate gesture that set the right tone.

Unfortunately, that initial impression didn’t last. When a waitress arrived with our mapo tofu, she caught the mistake just in time as it contained pork. She quickly apologised and returned it to the kitchen, but it was an oversight that shouldn’t have happened. Then came the fish, which was noticeably undercooked. When we pointed it out, the waitress relayed that the kitchen insisted it was cooked through, but it clearly wasn’t. Trying to portion it with a spoon was impossible. To her credit, the waitress still got the kitchen to have a new one made, but by then, the wait had become painfully long, and attention to our table had faded.

Service took a frustrating turn. The staff paced the restaurant but rarely checked in, even when it was clear we were waiting. When we tried to signal the male waiter to clear our table for dessert, he dismissed us, and it took far too long for someone to finally come around. This delay likely contributed to the already excessive wait for our final course. Meanwhile, tables that arrived after us (some with similar orders) were served and finished while we were still stuck waiting. The only saving grace was the two waitresses who remained apologetic and one of them even brought us a fresh bowl of warm rice when our fish finally arrived.

It’s a shame because the restaurant has potential, but the execution fell short. The delays, lack of attentiveness, and dietary mix-ups point to deeper issues, likely understaffing and miscommunication in the kitchen.

Looking at other reviews, it’s clear this isn’t an isolated experience. I urge management to take this consistent feedback seriously. Suzie Q could be great, but right now, it’s missing the mark.

Note: The booking wasn’t made under my name and do not seek any further resolution but urge management to consider the...
