Today in Prahran this restaurant dinner, this is a new restaurant, let us experience both the service and experience are very good 👍🏻 and our point of every dish is very good, chaple st has been my dinner shopping base 🥹, this shop is open in the street full of art, simple shop design is very advanced, very suitable for dating and girlfriends party, drink a cocktail chat place like Asian food friends can come here to try 👀!

Recommended menu 👇 Snack / Fresh oyster🦪 Personally, I have no resistance to oysters 🦪 sashimi, this restaurant's oysters are served with tom yum kung juice, which makes the taste very special. The oysters are very fresh, crunchy and sweet, and be sure to squeeze the lemon on them to maximise the freshness of the sashimi!

Snacks/ Beer battered Salt & Pepper Calamari This beer-marinated salt and pepper squid is so delicately plated 🥹! I feel like I love all the presentation of this restaurant, the squid itself may be slightly springy and tender, the overall flavour is supposed to be rich and multi-layered, with the winey aroma of the beer and the tangy spiciness of the peppercorns, it's such a tasty and tempting tapas!

-Snacks/ Truffle Pork Xiao Long Bao I really have to brag about these Black Truffle Pork Xiao Long Bao 😭! The Black Truffle Buns give off a rich black truffle aroma, which is so unique, and when you eat it, you can first feel the tenderness of the thin skin of the buns, and after eating it, you can really tell the calibre of the chef of this shop! It's really so delicious! Remember to eat it while it's still hot!

-Main/ Black Truffle Wagyu Fried Rice Believe me! This Black Truffle Wagyu Beef Fried Rice is a must order 🥹 It will bring you a luxurious and rich taste experience 🥹 The deep aroma of the black truffle will attract your attention when you eat it, and the freshness of the beef blends perfectly with the flavour of the black truffle!

-Mango & papaya This Mango and Papaya Salad is made with shredded green mango and papaya and has a very special Asian flavour, which is perfect to eat after you're full 😁!

-Wok Tossed Broccolini How is it impossible for Cantonese to not eat bok choy 🥬! This stir-fried broccoli is served with oyster sauce, which is delicate and has a familiar flavour.

It is always interesting to try a new local restaurant given Melbourne's wide offerings and rich food culture - yet without doubt Eight Restaurant and Bar will truly enrich Melbourne dining and soon become a restaurant of choice.

The design and ambience of the restaurant provides for a warm and intimate setting, catering for different size groups. The service throughout was efficient with a balanced amount of staff attentiveness to explain both the food and beverage menus, along with friendly customer interaction.

The food menu offers a wide variety of delicious dishes with portions generous for sharing. The Char Sui duck accompanied by a crisp mango and papaya salad certainly complimented our Salt and Pepper Tofu and succulent Chicken and Ginger Sui Ma dumpling appetisers - the dumplings being so good we tried a second serve to ensure consistency, which of course was upheld.

It is difficult to go past the bespoke cocktail list, noting also that classic cocktails are available on request. For something new and exciting do try the Eight cocktail, a delicious and refreshing mix served with 'fascination'.

I really wanted to like this place after reading so many positive reviews... so I booked for the $68 banquet as recommended for my partner's birthday. The serving sizes were tiny and food was nothing special. Despite being told we wouldn't be leaving hungry, we can honestly tell you that we definitely were! I think most people would be, so I don't recommend getting the 'feed me' option. Also, don't order the mocktails either as it's just sugar water. A disappointing experience overall and I hate that I have to be the first non-five star reviewer, but people need to know the truth about places that are just good at marketing. This one certainly does not measure up to your Red Spice Roads and Lee Ho Fooks in terms of quality and quantity for money. If you'd like a good Chinese feed in this area, I would definitely recommend Asian Star House around the corner.
