Check out our video of cutting up the pork knuckle on our IG and you'll know you have to visit this place.

From the team behind Hofbräuhaus, these guys know flavour and it shows. The location can't be better - at South Melbourne market, perfect for a snack (or more, if you're like us) after a day of shopping.

Have you checked out the Wall of Pretzels that they've got? Even looking at it makes you salivate. And of course we hit it off with some pretzels, perfectly made with generous amount of salt. Delish.

We continued with the CURRYWURST - if you love curry, you need to try this. It is a deliciously cooked before your very eyes Bratwurst sausage in a Berlin style curry-tomato sauce. Yum.

The star of our night - the most delicious, crispy as, PORK KNUCKLE, served with sauerkraut, mustard and gherkin. Now, this is one amazing pork knuckle, it comes piping hot, and the skin is so crispy - the sound of cutting it alone makes you drool. Special mention to the gherkin - it's one of those really juicy really crunchy ASMR style gherkins. Delish.

We couldn't step away without a slice of their German apple strudel with vanilla sauce and cream.

Can't wait to be back for more...

Fantastic Service and Delicious Pretzels and Sausages at Little Hof!

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Little Hoff and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by both the exceptional service and the mouthwatering pretzels and sausages. I was greeted with a warm and friendly welcome.

The service at Little Hoff is truly top-notch. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that my visit was nothing short of fantastic. Their genuine enthusiasm and dedication to customer satisfaction truly set this establishment apart.

The pretzels and sausages were absolutely phenomenal! The pretzels were perfectly baked, boasting a delightful golden crust and a soft, fluffy interior. They were served with a variety of delectable dipping sauces that complemented the flavors exquisitely. As for the sausages, they were cooked to perfection and bursting with savory, mouthwatering goodness. The quality of the ingredients and the expert preparation were evident in every bite.

Little Hof has won me over with its exceptional service and delectable pretzels and sausages. I highly recommend this establishment. I can't wait to return for another round of their...

Just because we can’t take that flight to Germany right now, doesn’t mean you can’t get a taste of it, right here in good ol’ South Melbourne Market right?😍

Bringing the best of German street food to your palate, Little Hof does such a fine job.

Completely fell in love with these freshly baked Bretzels that melt in your mouth. Spread some butter over and it was just so good!

The curry wurst was very interesting in spite of eating curries practically all my life. It was nothing what I imagined it to be. Slices of Bavarian sausage, swimming in Berlin style curry-tomato sauce. That sauce was packed with flavour!!

But the absolute show-stopper was the crackling pork knuckle, straight out of the rotisserie!! Served with traditional sauerkraut and mustard, this dish is singing with flavour. From the crunch of that crackling to the meat falling off from the bone, it’s an experience you definitely don’t want to miss.

Don’t forget to end this street food saga with some classic Apple strudel to warm your heart even more!

Also, had some local German lemon sodas which were pretty cool. I’m not a big beer person unfortunately.

So, are you ready to take a quick trip to Germany right here...

German food heaven! The perfect pit stop when visiting the South Melbourne Market - easy and delicious options to grab and eat as you're on the go OR to sit down and dine in. During our visit we saw lots of corporates from nearby offices dinning in so its perfect for those work lunches too. Hospitality and service was on another level as the staff took the time to explain the dishes, how they were cooked, where the meat was sourced from and stories behind the traditional dishes from their home land - you could tell they were really passionate about it all. The pork knuckle was insanely crispy, we were told it is cooked 3 ways in order to achieve the perfect crisp. The staff also explained that through trial and error, they have been able to maintain that crisp to survive food delivery (i.e. Uber Eats) so those ordering from home can enjoy. What we ate: 🔸 The crispiest pork knuckle you’ll find, served with sauerkraut, mustard and gherkin. 🔹 Traditional Berlin style curry wurst 🔸 Apfelatrudel 🔹 Bretzel 🔸 Butterflied chilli kransky with sweet mustard sauce and pickle 🔹Hofbräu Bavarian bier

We recently stopped by for lunch and tried a few deli sandwiches, including a sausage sandwich and an apple strudel for dessert. The food was prepared quickly, and we really appreciated that the sandwiches were cut in half — made it easier to eat and share. The Chicken Ruben was definitely the standout. It had a great balance of savory flavors with just a hint of sweetness, making it our favourite of the savoury options. The deli sandwiches are around $19 so don’t come expecting a super cheap meal! The seating is mostly outdoors and available on a first-come, first-served basis, which is great for casual dining, especially with the South Melbourne Market vibe. It’s also dog and kid-friendly, so it’s perfect for a family or pet-friendly outing. The only downside is that it can get quite busy on weekends with foot traffic, so be prepared for crowds if you're heading over during peak times. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would definitely recommend it!
