So excited that there is a new sushi train in our area! I've been there twice now, once by myself and the other time with my daughter. We really enjoyed ourselves. I found there was a good range of sushi when I went the first time at the beginning of lunch time, less variety when I came an hour before closing time which makes sense. My daughter couldn't find her favourite chicken teriyaki sushi and the FOH had one made. Hot food is made to order, the chicken karaage was crunchy and flavoursome, the batter to chicken ratio was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. I believe the gentleman who seated us is the owner or manager - it was clear that he was taking on feedback in real time. For example, someone commented that they couldn't find the ginger and soon after he arrived offering ginger to each table. The next time I came, the ginger was readily available. Sometimes I feel that leaving a bad review for such a new business isn't nearly as helpful as giving feedback directly to the manager so I hope those people do return to see if their feedback has been taken on board.
Comparably it was more expensive than some of my favourite places in the city (Sushi Hotaru and Tetsujin most notably) and it certainly hasn't reinvented the sushi train game but all the mainstream faves were there and for the first Sushi Sushi sushi train in Melbourne (what a mouthful!), I think it has a lot of potential! Also the convenience factor of it being 10 mins away is a huge draw for me.
I look forward to seeing how it improves...

Firstly, I am disgusted by the amount of wastage that occurs due to not offering dispensing soy sauce or sauce plates. Cardboard is provided as are the plastic fish soy sauce you get when buying takeaway. The whole idea behind a restaurant is to avoid wastage; not here it seems.
Everyone knows the quality of soy sauce is better from a bottle.
Secondly, the staff at the kitchen speak at loud decibels in Vietnamese. I am happy the staff enjoy working with one another and have nothing agaisnt them but they need to remember this is a Japanese restaurant. People don't want to dine in and hear staff complain or speak loudly (I speak Vietnamese for the record and felt like I was in Vietnam lol
Food was tasty but the whole restaurant structure needs a revamp if they're serious about...
Read moreWe had a great early dinner at sushi sushi highpoint train. It is conveniently open until 8.30pm on Fridays so we came around 4.30pm and we were seated immediately. Staff was kind and efficient. Food was really delicious and there were a great variety. of sushi plates. We had a few different sashimis, some sushi roles, some sushi, seaweed salat and pancakes. It was all great. It would be even better if plates were named somehow so we knew exactly what we were eating. We even tried some strawberry taste sweets (for the first time ever and it was great). The place is very clean and it is not overcrowded and it is a lot fo fun for the kids (and just a few steps from the real playground ;)). We paid $75 for really a lot of food for 3 of us (I think that each of us had about five plates) and for drinks - I think it is really...
