Alright folks.. if you have a rice craving. Look no further... the fried rice with char siew n prawn , was not oily and really tasty. It was good. So good. And the pho , my wife wack the entire bowl... their chilli paste that comes with the pho. Was fragrant, spicy and pack a punch. And for you fellows who never been to Vietnam. They have road side shop that sells , broken rice with pork chop. If you wanna get a feel... come here and try. The ambience is good. The free water served was good. (Save money hehe) This place was worth the trip. I will miss this place. I hope I helped in making a good decision. Haha. Thank you for reading. Enjoy.

A great dining experience with a large menu and plenty of choice. The shaken beef (brown butter sauce) was very tender though the tomato rice was a little too salty. We enjoyed the homemade lemonade drink and Hanoi spring rolls as well. Waitresses were attentive and the interior was nice and modern too. I selected the restaurant based on the range of gluten free mains, however when it came to dessert there were unfortunately no suitable GF choices. The deep fried ice cream was overfried and tasted burnt, when cut into the ice cream was also mostly melted while normally it stays frozen inside.

OK VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT IN BOX HILL The cafe is modern and has comfortable seating. The service is efficient but there is no warmth at all in the service :( That wouldn't matter too much if the price was low - but its not. $19 for a bowl of pho that was just OK. To be fair, I didn't try other dishes (apart from the tofu rice paper roll). Peopel with mobility issues will be finer once inside as its all on one even floor but they may have a bit of trouble negotiating the fairly heavy and tight entry door.

This was my regular Pho spot in Boxhill. Not anymore. What happened: Drink tasted off: Ordered an iced long black, flavour wasn't right. While paying, I politely gave feedback (and insisted I'd happily pay!). Staff kindly offered to remake it, I appreciated that. Second mistake: They brought a HOT Americano instead. The spill: When I said "I ordered iced," the staff insisted on adding ice to the hot coffee. She opened the lid at the counter - not the coffee station. Hot coffee splashed out mostly onto her own feet/shoes, but it hit my shoe too. The unacceptable part: I said, "That just got on my shoe." Her reply: "It went into my shoe too, and it's hot." Then she turned her back and walked away - no apology, no napkin, no care. After 20 seconds, she handed me a napkin. Hot coffee on skin burns. I felt bad for her too, but you don't just walk off from a customer you just splashed coffee on. Later: Saw coffee stains on my shoelaces/shoes in the car. Manager (Jimmy ) dismissed everything: • Promised the owner would call me "tomorrow." • When I asked to speak directly to the owner (due to language barrier concerns), she called back: → Brushed off the spill ("staff inexperience"). → Only apologized for the drink error - not for the burn risk to a customer or my already ruined shoes. → Never acknowledged the burn risk or my stained shoes. • When I asked again about the owner calling? She hung up on me. • Called back to confirm - hung up on AGAIN. Why 1 star? • Staff handled boiling coffee dangerously (opening lid away from station). • Zero concern when hot liquid hit a customer ("it's hot" isn't an apology!). • Manager defended recklessness and HUNG UP instead of fixing it. $20 pho isn't worth burned feet or disrespect. Owner - reach out if you care. Until...

This place is amazing. I’ve been going to Tien Dat for well over 10 years. We go there for family dinners with my Dad. There are so many restaurants in Box Hill and I don’t want to try any of them. This was the first place my Dad took me to in Box Hill after he moved there and I love it.

It’s always busy. It’s got an upbeat bustling and lively feel. It’s over 2 floors. The wait staff are just lovely. We always get a friendly welcome. Service is always efficient.

The menu has a range of different dishes providing a good variety of Vietnamese meals to choose from. I intend on working my way through the menu items but every time I get there I can’t say no to the Noodles (Bun) with lemongrass chicken, salad and chopped spring rolls. It’s my weakness. So good. My Dad has had heaps of things in the menu and he’s crazy about all of them. My partner is a bit of a picky eater and even he manages to find something he enjoys.

The price point is really great, too, which makes it budget friendly.

Just be organised and on time. They are so busy they book at least two sittings to each table. So when we went last we were booked for 6pm and had to be out by 7.30pm. We were late to arrive and still eating the last of our meal at 7.30pm. They were really good about it: didn’t kick us out. We were out by 7.40pm. I wouldn’t have pushed it though. I know from so many visits over the years that they always have the next guests ready for the table as soon as it’s available. I also suggest booking with as much notice as possible, especially for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

We...
