I placed an online delivery via the Thai@Toorak website which redirected me to an online ordering system called OrderMate. The order was placed at 7:26pm. I received an SMS at 7:45pm saying the order had been received but an ETA would not be able to be provided and to call the restaurant. I called the restaurant an explained my situation and the woman on the other end reassured me that my order was on the way. After 15 minutes and my order not arriving (I live 3 minutes from the restaurant), I decided to call and check on my order. At that point the woman stated that they no longer use OrderMate and that I would have to pick up my order and it would be another 20 minutes even with a rush on the order. So I went to the restaurant to pick up my food. 35 minute minutes later I finally received my food at the restaurant. I was given 2 cans of complimentary Coca Cola and an attitude. I was told I should have used UberEats and not the online ordering system. When I asked for my money back (the bare minimum of the delivery fee of $4) she said she was not able to refund us and to complain online. The online system directed refund enquiries to the restaurant's phone number. When I explained this, she asked the male staff member to deal with the issue. This man was rude and dismissive and begrudgingly gave me a refund. When I asked if this was all I would get for compensation, he said aggressively "You want $5?" and put five $1 coins on the counter and walked away. Left with little other choice, I accepted this and left.
The food was tasty but the service left a bitter taste in my mouth.

I was lucky enough to be invited in. Located in the heart of Toorak on Toorak road, presents this wonderful authentic Thai restaurant, just take a glance outside their window seats and you can see the sweeping views of Toorak. Very impressed with the service the owner Peter was very humble and very knowledgeable about his Thai food, he went through a lot of foods on the menu to the chef specials. I must say the customer service was outstanding I was getting checked on frequently to ensure everything is ok and how the food was going. Started with the chicken satay skewers which were accompanied by a nice sweet side sauce along with peanut satay smothered all over the skewers. The peanut sauce was delicious I wanted to lick my plate. Out came the mains (in a timely manner) had the Thai beef salad which was very nourishing and bursting full of flavours, from the fish sauce to lemon grass and more herbs it just tasted so fresh, mind you it had a bit of a kick to it. Lastly my favourite Thai dish ever now.. was the red duck curry in a lychee sauce with pineapple. Seriously where can you find lychee curry didn't think this flavour combination existed. This is what I loved about the menu they offered an extensive range it's seriously not your typical Aussie Thai food this place has more to it and can do it right. Definitely was (Thai-tastic) for me. I would be back and I'll definitely be back for that...
Read moreI really can't understand why the place seems to be always empty. Given the number of Uber eats people traipsing up and down the stairs they seem to do a roaring trade in takeaway so that must be how they stay in business. Do your self a favour and actually come in to the restaurant as the decor is actually quite fancy and the food is delicious. Rich authentic quality sauces are the key to fantastic flavour in every dish.
We obviously don’t deviate from a winning formula (though unintentional) as we inadvertently ordered the exact same dishes as last time. Importantly though they were all delicious and consistency is key. There’s nothing worse than having a good experience and then recommending to friends and them experiencing something different so I was really happy to see the high standards being maintained.
The pad Thai for me was absolutely stellar. I haven’t had such a yummy version of that dish since I did a cooking class in Bangkok. Definitely a must order but I doubt you could go wrong...
