Topolino's — Restaurant in Melbourne

Extremely racist and rude staff. This sad excuse for a restaurant doesn’t even have enough cutlery to serve the customers even though this place was almost empty. These unprofessional stuck up waiters just stood close by waiting to collect the cutlery back creating a rather unpleasant environment to dine in. The food was served in unhygienic platters and was extremely oily. My bf ended up puking in less than 30mins after eating from this place. The manager is tardy and cold making this place all the more unbearable.I noticed them mistreating their delivery drivers and being rather unprofessional towards them too. I normally never write reviews , but this is definitely the worst restaurant I have ever been to as it takes incompetence and disappointment all on to a whole new level. It’s a tragedy that such a pathetic place is licensed as each and every person working over there lacks basic etiquette of customer service. If I could give negative rating to this disgusting place I would. I completely regret going to this place wasting my money and ruining my evening.

RESPONSE TO THE OWNER;

I am 100% sure that you’re the right establishment I’m talking about. This is the worst place I have been to,I wouldn’t mistake it for any other.

Any decent restaurant would have the basic courtesy to acknowledge the bad experience of a customer and apologise for it. (Fyi look at any other restaurant responses). And I know ton of other people who have had similar experience with your restaurant. Your reaction to criticism shows full well as to how incapable you guys are of accepting your mistakes or acknowledging customer dissatisfaction. You guys are a below average restaurant , not some fancy “IT” place in Melbourne, for anyone to take the time out or have any ulterior motives to leave bad reviews. As for the other good reviews, it’s a known fact that crappy places pay to get good reviews.

Besides , I went through some of your other reviews , where you have reacted the same way to others who have left negative reviews, going as far as to force a black woman to take down her review , who complained about facing racism in your “restaurant”. Guess you guys are incapable of providing decent service to people of colour. Beyond disgusted that such a place exists in a beautiful city like Melbourne.

Hopefully you guys can cleanse your outlook and improve your customer service.

The service was horrible. We arrived without a booking as we noticed the alfresco area was quiet. When we asked for table without a booking the waitress replied “oh no you don’t have a booking...mm ok then.” Insinuating that we had done something wrong by arriving at the venue without prior notice.... We then where ushered to a table only to have to get our own table water after waiting 10mins for the waitress to bring it out. The Waitress then dropped my cutlery on the ground outside while setting the table😐 luckily I saw as she went to set the table with the same knife. so I had to ask for a new one. I then ordered food and could tell that the waitress was not listening while I asked for two of the same items on the menu. I repeated myself in hope that she understood that I wanted two of the same item. The Food then started to come out to the table. I assumed that the item I ordered was mine when it came out to the table but was condescendingly told That it was NOT my order aS she grabbed my bowl and put it in front of the another person at my table, the situation started to get a little confusing to me as a paying customer I just wanted what I ordered. We still had one more item to come so I sat and waited patiently to see if my food was correctly ordered and if I was going to receive my meal at all. after 10mins of waiting while everyone at my table ate it was obvious that the waitress did not listen. Another waitress then came out and asked if everything was ok... I was still sitting there plateless. So I asked for my order for the third time only to be offered no apology but a rude condescending “yep ok” reply I was told it would be a 4minutes wait because the kitchen was now rushing the item for me.Everyone at my table was finished there food before I got mine not 4 but 10minutes laterIt was then brought out by another waitress and we never saw the waitress who messed up my order again. Very disappointed for the lack of accountability or apology for their mistake on what is a simple process and the main part of a waitresses job. Unfortunately my worst restaurant experience ever. We went there for our anniversary and the waitress literally interrupted us more than once while we were chatting and making our decision to ask if we had already decided. I've never seen this before. Usually you wait until the customer looks for you... we did not take that long and felt kind of pressured into choosing what to eat in a hurry.

Then, my plate came first and my husband had to wait for his for a few minutes.... i obviously waited for him. Usually the restaurants send the plates at the same time. so when his dish came and we started eating, my food was colder... this is why dishes leave the kitchen at the same time.

As if this was no enough, we chose a tiramisu for desert and there was a hair on it...

We called the manager, she did not charge for the desert. she was just sorry for everything that happened, but I did not feel like she wanted us to have a better opinion about the house. She hang near the table and tried to explain that if we had asked for a pizza and a dish, they are made in different places so they could come spearately. It was not the case, we did not eat pizza.

We are a very chilled comprehensible couple, usually laugh at these kinds of things, but this special night could have been better, we left feeling bad.... we will not go back. Atmosphere was nice and the other...
