I recently visited this Japanese dessert shop near Flinders Street Station, and I had an amazing experience! The staff was friendly and attentive.
Now, let's talk about the star of the showâthe famous Cheesecake! It was a sheer delight. The cheesecake had a remarkable textureâlight, fresh, and incredibly fluffy. The balance of flavors was impeccable; it wasn't overly sweet, allowing the creamy goodness to shine through. I couldn't help but fall in love with it instantly!
In terms of location, the shop couldn't be more convenient. Just a few meters away from Flinders Street Station, it's easily accessible and perfect for a quick treat during a busy day in the city.
Overall, I highly recommend this Japanese dessert shop for anyone seeking a delightful and memorable experience. The heavenly Cheesecake, combined with the welcoming ambiance and convenient location, make it a must-visit. Trust me, it will become your new favorite dessert item, just like it...

2022: The Crepe Brulee's m.i.a. till March 2023, but the new Onigiri Crepe's a good substitute. There's another Japanese cheesecake shop that's just opened, up the road, but they have no chance against Uncle Tetsu's 20+ year streak.
2021: Uncle Tetsu's have really out done themselves with their take on the French pancake, with the "Crepe Brulee". Loaded with strawberries, whipped cream and pieces of their original cheesecake. It's so light and fluffy, you'd literally inhale it!
2016: Uncle Tetsu's really knows how to put the "moist" in cheesecake, these literally are the epitome of "moist". The famous fluffy and delicate texture is what earn Uncle Tetsu's universal acclaim. It's very different to the cheesecakes of the old world, with only a slight after taste of cheese, lack of biscuit base and overall loss of that, dense stomach real estate feeling.

Read moreI bought a selection of cakes from this small Asian patisserie and it certainly was a mixed bag of not bad, delicious and utterly disappointing. The Japanese cheesecake had a great texture which is typical of this type of cheesecake however it was let down by it's bland flavour and lack of sweetness. The flavour of the small taro cheesecakes were delicious with a good level of sweetness but not cloying and great texture. The honey Madeleines were incredibly disappointing. In fact I've never tasted anything as dry and unappealing as these Madeleines. I'm convinced these were baked several days ago and not stored appropriately. Watch where they get taken from. I noticed they took 4 out and placed them in boxes but then put them back on display and I ended up with stale terrible cakes. Annoyingly they did smell great but I suspect I received ones destined for the bin or not stored...
