I came here 8/4 at about 11:30am. I ordered a strawberry iced tea and asked politely if it was okay to have light ice. The cashier was very friendly and nodded. I thanked him and paid and moved off to the side to wait. Unfortunately, the woman working with him smirked and called out to me āitās supposed to be iced, whatās the point?ā, and began laughing at me. It wasnāt a polite question or friendly joke, it definitely was apparent that she was trying to embarrass me or make fun of my request. I wasnāt trying to be rude or annoying, Iām a barista myself and honestly I donāt drink my drinks quickly enough and the ice melts and makes them super watery. I donāt mind if it means less drink, or if Iām refused at the counter. Laughing at a customer and snickering at them with your coworkers while loudly stating how stupid it is to get a drink with light ice of all things is plain bad service. I was genuinely so embarrassed and wanted to just leave, but Iād already paid so it wouldāve been more hassle to get a refund or kick up a fuss. Iām always a very nice person, I never complain unless something is seriously wrong. Iāve worked in hospitality for a long time and I understand difficult and rude customers, but even so, Iāve never made fun of them, especially not to their face. I know this might be a bit dramatic, but customer service culture has become so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent there to grab a hotdog with a friend after a late night gym session, around 4am as they were one of the only shops opened.
Decided on a combo deal wher it's $18 for a frankfurt, any donut, any SODA OR milkshake. The male employee kept insisting that he can't give us soda, only milkshake. Despite pointing out that it's literally on the menu sign hanging at the shop. He then said sorry, walked around and said something to the other employee who then came over. She seems confused, like if she could give us a soda so she went over to spend almost 5 minutes looking at the menu. Another employee walked in, who may be the manager, said it's fine so we were allowed the soda. Friend then chose the donut, employee inputted something else that wasn't part of the combo and tried to charge us. Luckily, friend was already paying attention to what they were inputting into their POS. Has to tell them to change again.
Finally got our frankfurt and left with all food. Got home and and received a message from friend that his frankfurt was uncooked.
Imagine, going all through that hassle to get food at 4am, being treated real dismissively, only to find out you have a barely cooked food at 5am. We were not rude at any point.
Seriously, do better. It was $18 for an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOutstanding donuts & can't beat the price. Friendly looking outlet & being 24 hrs I find is great as a late shift worker.
However...while service is generally very good, several times now, the latest being tonight, I have had to wait while one staff member attends to a customer and the other appears to be on their phone, reading the paper or whatever.
I often pop in when I'm on turnaround from driving city buses so I literally only have 5 minutes. I just don't have time available to stuff around while one staff member is occupied making coffee (which takes time, I understand) and the other is doing sod all. Or worse, when both are idle and not interested in serving in a timely matter. This means several times I've had to leave without anything as I am out of time, which is disappointing.
Otherwise, though, A+, just some awareness to your staff that especially late, some of us are on short work breaks and don't have time.
One last note. Older lady tonight, around 9.50 Sun 24/3 - the same one who was slacking off was very curt and rude when she finally...
