Google rating 3.5 out of 5. That’s not particularly good, considering that they start with a minimum of 1 in order to submit a rating. Let’s take off the compulsory “1” and call it 2.5. That feels about right.
Busy tonight but walk in table available … bodes well. Waiting, waiting, waiting for menus. Ok, they’re busy … we understand. Hmm, that table over there came in after us and have menus (and eventually their orders) before us. Ok, we understand, they’re busy, AND disorganised (that “other table” ate, paid and left well before us).
Waiting, waiting. Eventually order. Glasses of wine quick to appear but food quite slow. Just two of us. Not ideal for Chinese restaurant dining … but tourist couples can’t produce large dining parties out of their R’s. A sweet and sour pork and a seafood rice. Neither above average. Pork pieces in “fish and chip style batter” (appears to be the local Chinese restaurant “style”) and seafood rice (premium priced) mostly all (expensive) rice with a minimal selection of seafood … mostly white fish (ok taste and texture), a few prawn pieces and a few chunks of (rubbery) squid. The seafood rice definitely the better of the two plates but overall disappointing. There’s a “squillion” Chinese restaurant in this area … statistically you’ll do better by walking...
Read moreWe were a walk-in party of 7 (Saturday 8-9pm) initially service was goodish. After 10 minute wait a large table upstairs became available, we ordered 4 x Banquet A ($40 per head) and 3 x Banquet B ($70 per head) + 7 drinks. We requested water for the table x3 (expecting 7 cups or glasses and jug/bottle of water) we received 2 small cocacola glasses of water? We requested for the meals and drinks to be separated into 3 - the waitress agreed and took 3 seperate orders (preparing to split bill) anyways the food was ok, service meh. We go down to pay and the teller starts yelling at us saying they DO NOT split bills and repeatedly hits a sign that’s says no split bill. We try to quietly resolve the issue saying the waitress took 3 seperate orders for us and apologised we didn’t know this place wouldn’t normally do that. After 5 mins of the teller yelling and the Entire restaurant staring at us - we politely asked for the manager or owner to speak with us. After 5 mins waiting and now 2 other tables in queue to pay we finally see our waitress who brings up our 3 orders and the owner or manager says it’s ok for this once? I WILL NOT BE BACK we spent combined over $400 -...
Read moreI don’t know if I’ve ever gone out of my way to leave a negative review before but this just had to be done.
Stopped in for Yum Cha today and regret it so badly.
I am vegetarian so was told I had to order off the a La carte menu (which in itself is fine, i understand that dietary requirements are sometimes difficult to accomodate). I ordered vegetable dumplings which took ages to arrive and turned out to be just 3 small dumplings with the only filling being mushroom. They were not nice and were very expensive at $9.80 plus public holiday surcharge.
We sat there for 45 minutes and in that time the only thing my partner got was one serve of pork buns. There were so few trolleys coming round and the ones that were coming the food was being taken by customers who were sat closer to the kitchen. There didn’t seem to be any plan to make sure everyone got something.
We weren’t offered any drinks, veggies or even rice. After 45 minutes we paid for our pork buns and left still starving. There was a couple behind us paying up to do the same thing.
I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this...
