Enso Specialty Coffee Bar — Restaurant in New South Wales

I mean this review with no malice at all, but more so constructive criticism for a sweet cafe.

We pulled into Bathurst on our travels and stopped into this place, which had the highest rating of coffee shops in the area. We ordered two large lattes, an oat latte, an oat mocha and almond latte on the house blend.

So firstly, it’s advertised as a specialty coffee house, but what we were served wasn’t speciality coffee. I speak this as a barista of many years, and yes the initial warning should have been when the beans used in the house blend were left ambiguous “South American” mix… usually a red flag, however, I bypassed this as they did have a Kenyan and Colombian single origin available.

So yes. The my main reason for reviewing - the coffee I drank wasn’t a 4.9 star review coffee. It was really a 3. In honestly it was probably a 3.5, but it definitely wasn’t a 4… so yes. It was burnt and bitter, and my feeling is that it’s the organic fair trade blend that’s being served isn’t doing them any justice.

Just some food for thought, the business has a lot of potential, the cafe is sweet and the people running it seem lovely. But just need a brush up on what specialty...

Very tasty eats, delicious Fish River Roasters coffee. Big ups to the owners for running their own waste streaming (3x bins to separate Food/organics, recycling and landfill😎) great to see a business taking this initiative.
